This guide is for course providers who see the warning Emailing is disabled in the Admin dashboard, or emails marked BLOCKED in an email history or a team member’s message history. It explains what it means, which emails are held back, how to get emailing turned on and how to send the blocked emails afterwards.
Emailing: a setting on your course provider account that lets Cademy deliver the emails your account sends to customers, learners and your team. Only Cademy can turn it on or off.
What It Means When Emailing Is Disabled
When emailing is disabled on your account, Cademy still prepares most emails and saves them in the email history, but does not deliver them. Each one is marked BLOCKED. Nobody receives it.
Only the emails are held back. Customers can still book, orders and registrations are still created, certificates are still issued and Inbox messages are still saved.
Why Emailing Is Turned Off on an Account
Emailing is a setting that Cademy controls for each course provider account. It is off on a new account until Cademy turns it on, and Cademy can also turn it off on an account. There is no setting in the Admin dashboard that turns it on.
Emailing being off is not caused by your plan, your email templates or your own email domain, and changing them does not turn it on.
How to Enable Emails on Your Account
To get emailing turned on, contact Cademy Support. Use the chat in the Admin dashboard or email support@cademy.io, and include your business name as it appears in Cademy. For the ways to reach Support, see Contact Your Course Provider or Cademy Support.
Once emailing is on, newly prepared emails are no longer blocked by this account setting. Emails already marked BLOCKED are not sent automatically: see Send Blocked Emails After Emailing Is Turned On below.
Which Emails Are Blocked and Which Still Send
While emailing is disabled, these emails are prepared and marked BLOCKED, but not delivered:
Booking confirmations, invoices, payment emails and reminders to customers and learners.
Course invitations, and manual or bulk emails you send from Contacts, Orders, Registrations or a course.
Feedback requests and certificate emails.
Email notifications of Inbox messages, to customers and to your team.
Emails to your team, such as new booking notifications and the email a Facilitator gets when they are assigned to or unassigned from a course date.
These emails still send while emailing is disabled:
Login, sign-up and password-reset emails.
Invitations for new team members to join your account.
Two emails are not prepared at all while emailing is disabled, so they never show as BLOCKED and cannot be resent: the confirmation for a registration you add in the Admin dashboard, and the email telling a participant you moved them to another date. Once emailing is on, send those people a new email.
Where You See Blocked Emails (BLOCKED in Email and Message History)
Before you send: screens for bulk emails, course invitations, feedback requests, certificates and Inbox replies show a warning titled Emailing is disabled, which says nothing will be delivered.
After you send: a message such as Emails prepared but blocked or Message saved and email prepared but blocked appears.
In email history: the email is listed with a red BLOCKED status on the contact’s Emails tab, the order’s or registration’s Emails section, the form response, or a team member’s Messages tab. For example, when you assign a Facilitator to a course date, the email telling them about it is listed as BLOCKED on their Messages tab.
When you open a blocked email: the View Message window shows Prepared instead of Sent, and a notice titled Email blocked saying the email was not delivered because emailing is disabled for this account.
When you select Resend or Forward: an error says that emailing is disabled on this account, and nothing is sent.
To find an email history, see Find Sent Emails and Check Delivery Status.
Send Blocked Emails After Emailing Is Turned On
Once Cademy turns emailing on, emails that were blocked stay blocked. To send one of them, resend it from its email history:
Open the email history where the email is listed, for example the contact’s Emails tab or the order’s Emails section.
Select the BLOCKED email. View Message opens.
Check To, the subject and the content. The copy is sent exactly as it was prepared: names, dates, prices and links in it are not updated.
Select Resend. Resend sends straight away, without another confirmation.
Wait for Email has been resent successfully. The new copy is listed as a separate email with its own status.
If you cannot find the email, follow Find Sent Emails and Check Delivery Status to check the relevant history. If you are still unsure, contact Cademy Support before sending another. Resend works on one email at a time. If many emails were blocked, such as a bulk email to everyone on a course date, or if the details in an email are out of date, send a new email instead: see Send an Email to Course Participants or Contacts. For the Resend checks, see Resend a Booking Confirmation or Other Sent Email.
Emails Failing for One Contact Only (Not Account-Wide)
If emails to one person fail but other emails are delivered, emailing on your account is working. Emails to that person are marked with another status, such as BOUNCED or COMPLAINT, not BLOCKED. The problem is with that address. For what each status means, see Find Sent Emails and Check Delivery Status.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I turn emailing on myself in Settings?
No. Only Cademy can turn emailing on or off for an account. Contact Cademy Support to ask for it.
Does upgrading my plan turn emailing on?
No. Emailing is a separate setting from your plan. Changing plan does not turn it on or off.
Do customers still get their booking confirmation while emailing is disabled?
No. The booking is made, but its confirmation email is marked BLOCKED in the order’s Emails section. Once emailing is on, open it and select Resend.
Does setting up my own email domain fix blocked emails?
No. Your own domain changes the address emails are sent from. It does not turn emailing on. See Send Emails from Your Own Domain.
Can I still invite team members while emailing is disabled?
Yes. Team-member invitations, login emails and password-reset emails still send.
