This guide is for System Admins who need to send another copy of an email already recorded in Cademy. It covers Resend and Forward, not composing a new email or generating an updated booking confirmation.
A Contact is a customer record. A team member is a Facilitator, Course Owner or System Admin. Team-member messages have Resend, but do not have Forward.
Choose the right action
Resend uses the original recorded email address, subject and message content. Editing a contact’s email address does not change where Resend sends the old message.
Forward uses the email address of the contact you select. The original subject and message content are copied; the copy is not personalised again for the selected contact.
Check before sending: Both actions copy the original message. Names, course details, amounts and personal links inside it are not regenerated. Only send it to someone authorised to receive that information. Do not forward another person’s sign-in or personal access link. If the content needs changing, prepare a new message instead: see Send a Manual Email to Customers or Course Participants.
For example, correcting a customer’s Contact email does not repair the address on an old email. Use Forward to the corrected Contact only after checking that the unchanged content and links are appropriate for that same person.
Open the recorded email
For an email recorded on a Contact, use this route:
In the Admin dashboard, open Contacts. Search for the person and open their record.
Select the Emails tab, in the row of tabs that starts with All Activity. On a smaller screen, select Activity first.
Find the message by subject, date and status, then select its row. View Message opens.
Check To, Subject, Sent (or Prepared for a blocked email), the message content and any listed attachments. Do not send a copy if the content has not loaded or you cannot establish that it is the right email.
If the email belongs to an Order, Registration or team member, open its recorded history instead. An Order is the whole booking; a Registration is one participant’s place. For those routes, see Find Sent Emails and Check Delivery Status.
For a General or Feedback form response, open Forms in the Admin dashboard and select the form. Select Responses if it is not already selected, then select the response’s row. In the response panel, open Emails and select the message. Checkout forms do not have this Responses tab.
Opening a recorded message does not send it. In View Message, however, selecting Resend sends immediately. There is no extra confirmation screen.
Resend to the original address
Resend sends immediately. Check the recorded To address and original content before selecting it. Do not use Resend if that address is wrong.
Resend requires the original recorded attachments to be retrievable. If one cannot be retrieved, the resend fails instead of deliberately sending a copy without it.
Open the correct email in View Message and complete the checks above.
Select Resend once. Cademy attempts to send another copy to the recorded To address.
Wait for the result. A successful request shows Email has been resent successfully. This is not confirmation that the recipient received or read it.
Close View Message using its top-right close button. Check the new copy in the relevant history. On a Contact, refresh the page and reopen Emails.
The original email remains in history. The new copy has a new recorded time and retains the original record links. Contact history does not show every kind of notification. If a new copy is absent, that does not prove sending failed: check the linked Order, Registration or form response where applicable, or contact Cademy Support before retrying.
Forward to a selected contact
Use Forward when the unchanged message is suitable for the intended person but must be sent to a different or corrected contact address. It is available in Contact, Order, Registration and form-response email history, not in a team member’s Messages tab.
Attachments can be omitted: Forward includes original attachments that Cademy can still retrieve. Unlike Resend, it does not require every attachment to be available. If all attachments are essential, do not rely on Forward without checking the resulting copy.
Open the correct email in View Message. Check its content and any personal links before proceeding.
Select Forward. The Forward Message to... dialog opens.
In Search for a contact..., find and select the intended Contact. Check the email address shown in the option, not just the name. Contacts without an email address are excluded.
When you are ready to send, select Forward at the bottom of that dialog. To leave without sending, select Cancel.
Wait for Message has been forwarded successfully. This confirms the request succeeded, not inbox delivery.
Open the selected Contact from Contacts and check its Emails tab for the new copy. Refresh the page if it was already open.
The forwarded copy is recorded for the selected Contact, but Contact history excludes some notifications. If the new entry is absent, that does not prove sending failed. Check the linked Order, Registration or form response where applicable, or contact Cademy Support before retrying. The copy keeps original record links; Forward does not transfer a booking or participant place to another person.
If the intended person is not already a Contact
Check existing contacts first: If Cademy matches the email address to an existing Contact, this submission reuses it and updates its name with any non-empty name details you enter. Select the existing Contact instead if you do not intend to submit new contact details. This is not a way to change a team member’s login email.
In Forward Message to..., open Search for a contact... and choose Create new contact....
Enter the person’s name and correct email address in the contact fields. Their labels and order follow your account’s contact-field setup. If a needed field is hidden, select Show more fields. This forwarding action submits the first name, last name and email address, not extra fields such as a phone number.
Check the unchanged email content and entered address. Select the dialog’s final Forward button only when ready to create or update the Contact and send the copy. This is not a save-only step. Use Back to select to return to existing contacts, or Cancel to abandon the forward.
Check Contacts and the relevant email history. If sending fails, the Contact can still have been created or updated. Check before trying again.
If the copy does not arrive or the action fails
Check the new copy’s recorded recipient and status. A success message is not proof of delivery, and DELIVERED is not proof that the message reached the inbox or was read. See Find Sent Emails and Check Delivery Status for status meanings.
If Cademy reports that emailing is disabled, contact Cademy Support. Repeatedly selecting Resend or Forward does not enable emailing.
If the original message content or a required attachment is unavailable, stop and contact Cademy Support with the record, original subject, recipient, time and displayed error. Do not assume that Forward is an equivalent fix when attachments are missing.
If an error leaves you unsure whether a copy was sent, check history before trying again. If you used Create new contact..., also check Contacts: contact creation or updates happen before sending, and a later send failure does not undo them. If history does not establish what happened, contact Cademy Support before retrying. Repeated attempts can create duplicate emails.
If a new copy is recorded but the person cannot find it, ask them to check spam or junk. For a complaint or repeated delivery failure, contact Cademy Support before sending more copies.
For a team member whose recorded address is wrong, contact Cademy Support about the login-email change. Do not archive and replace the person as a universal email-change procedure. User invitation emails use their separate invitation workflow; they are not resent from team-member message history.
Frequently asked questions
Does Resend use a contact’s updated email address?
No. It uses the address recorded on the original message. Forward uses the selected Contact’s current address.
Does Forward update names, dates or links in the original message?
No. It copies the saved subject and content. If those details need changing, prepare a new message rather than forwarding the old one.
Can I forward a team-member message?
No. The team member’s Messages tab offers Resend but not Forward. Do not confuse that record with a customer Contact.
Does resending generate a new invoice or booking confirmation?
No. This action copies an existing email. It does not regenerate its contents from the current Order, invoice or course details.
Are the attachments guaranteed to be identical?
No blanket guarantee applies. Resend requires the recorded attachments to be retrievable; Forward can omit unavailable attachments. Check the original and the resulting copy when attachments matter.
Does a successful resend prove the person received the email?
No. Check the new message’s delivery status and ask the recipient to check their folders. A recorded open is not proof that the intended person read the content.
