Use Show on Google to allow eligible pages on your Cademy minisite to be considered for search results. Your minisite is your business’s public Cademy website, such as your-name.cademy.io. The setting also applies to other search engines.
Turning it on does not guarantee a search listing, a ranking, visitors or bookings. Search engines decide whether and when to include a page. This guide explains who can change the setting, which pages it covers and why a course can still be missing from search.
Who Can Change the Show on Google Setting?
You need the System Admin role. The control is included on Free, legacy Starter, Pro and Teams. For a Custom & Enterprise account, access depends on the account’s configured agreement.
Your account must also pass Cademy’s trust checks before its pages are eligible for indexing. Indexing means a search engine adds a page to its searchable collection of pages. An indexed page may appear in search results, but a place or ranking is not guaranteed. A visibility setting that looks on does not override the account’s trust restriction.
Check Whether Your Minisite Is Set to Show on Google
Sign in to the correct business in the Admin Dashboard.
Open Profile and expand Show on Google.
Read the button: Show on Google means the site is set to stay out of search results. Hide from Google means the saved visibility choice is on. Trust and page-visibility requirements still apply.
If the button already says Hide from Google, you do not need to switch the setting off and on again. This shows your saved choice, not proof that Google has listed the site.
Allow Your Minisite to Appear in Google Search
In Profile → Show on Google, select Show on Google.
Read the confirmation and select Yes - Show on Google.
Check for Google visibility updated! or an error. After a successful change, the section offers Hide from Google.
This action saves separately from Save Changes. It does not save other profile fields you have edited.
Hide Your Minisite From Google Search
In Profile → Show on Google, select Hide from Google.
Read the confirmation and select Yes - Hide from Google.
Check for Google visibility updated! or an error. After a successful change, the section offers Show on Google.
Hiding asks search engines to remove your site and courses from their results. The confirmation explains that this can take a few weeks; it is not an instant removal or a guaranteed deadline.
Hiding from Google does not make the minisite private. People with its link can still open it. Use the course’s own publishing and access settings when you need to restrict a course. See Publish and Share a Course.
Which Minisite Pages Can Appear in Search Results?
For an eligible account with visibility on, the public home and About pages can be indexed. The public Reviews page is included unless public reviews are hidden. Published courses listed on the minisite can also be indexed, except for the WordPress case below.
Does a Public Course Automatically Appear on Google?
Setting a course to Public puts it in the relevant course listings; it does not guarantee a Google result. Turning on search visibility does not publish an unpublished course, make a private course public or expose its lessons and checkout pages to search. See Publish and Share a Course for course publishing and private-link settings.
How Google Visibility Works With WordPress and Your Own Website
If Cademy for WordPress is enabled, the duplicate course pages on your Cademy minisite are excluded from indexing. Your WordPress course pages use the WordPress site’s own search-engine setup. See Add Your Courses to WordPress With the Cademy Plugin for that setup.
The Profile setting controls eligible Cademy minisite pages. It does not control search visibility for your entire independent website or make a website embed into a separate searchable website. See Choose Between Your Minisite and Your Own Website for the differences between these options.
Why Is Show on Google Disabled or Unavailable?
If the control is disabled and the section says This field is temporarily restricted for new accounts while your trust score is low., the account has not passed the required trust check. Contact Cademy Support if you believe the restriction is incorrect. Include your business name and the message shown.
A plan restriction can also make the control unavailable. Ask a System Admin to check the account’s access, or contact Support about a custom agreement. Waiting a fixed number of hours is not a guaranteed way to enable search visibility.
Why Is My Site or Course Not Appearing on Google?
Check these separately when your site or a course does not appear in search:
Saved visibility: in Profile → Show on Google, the button should say Hide from Google when your choice is on. Check any error from the attempted change.
Account eligibility: the account must pass Cademy’s trust checks even if the control looks on. Ask Support about a restriction you cannot explain.
Course publishing: the course must be published and listed on the minisite. A private or unpublished course is not made searchable by the Profile setting.
WordPress: when its integration is enabled, check the WordPress course page instead of expecting the duplicate minisite course page to be indexed.
Search-engine decisions: an eligible page is not guaranteed to be included or ranked for a particular phrase. There is no fixed time after saving when it must appear.
If you think the Cademy setting is wrong, send Support your minisite address, the affected course link, the setting shown and any error. Support can check Cademy’s account and page settings; turning them on is not a promise of a Google ranking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Show on Google send each course to Google?
No. It allows eligible public pages to be considered by search engines. Cademy provides search-engine information for those pages, but the button does not create an immediate listing or a per-course submission receipt.
Are Profile Categories & Tags required to show my site on Google?
No. These optional business-profile fields do not control whether your minisite pages are eligible for indexing. That depends on the visibility setting, account eligibility and the page’s own settings. Selecting categories or tags does not guarantee a ranking benefit. They are different from the categories and tags used to organise your courses; see Add Categories and Tags to Courses.
Does changing Google visibility save my category and tag edits?
No. The visibility button saves its own setting. Use Save Changes for edits to Profile Categories & Tags and other ordinary profile fields. See Update Your Business Profile on Your Minisite for the different profile save actions.
Does hiding my site from Google cancel bookings?
No. It changes search visibility, not existing bookings. People with the direct site or course link can still use it, subject to the course’s own access settings.
