Introduction
With drip feed scheduling, you can control when specific lessons in your on-demand or blended course become available. You can release lessons immediately, at a specific date, or based on when a student joins the course - giving you complete control over pacing and structure.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Open the Course Editor
From your Cademy dashboard, locate the course you’d like to edit.
Click the “Edit Course” button to enter the course editor.
Go to the Lesson You Want to Schedule
In the course editor, navigate to the “Contents” tab.
Select the lesson you want to schedule by clicking on it.
Click “Schedule & Options”
At the top of the selected lesson, click the “Schedule & Options” button.
This opens a scheduling dialog where you can control when the lesson becomes available.
Set a Release Option
Choose one of the following release settings:
Immediate access – The lesson is available as soon as a student joins.
Specific date – Choose an exact date and time for the lesson to become available.
Relative to course entry – Set the lesson to unlock a certain number of days after the student purchases or joins the course.
(Optional) Set a Due Date
You may also choose to set a due date for the lesson:
Specific date – Enter a fixed date and time for when the lesson is due.
Relative to course entry – Define how many days after course entry the lesson should be due.
Note: Due dates do not restrict lesson access. They display banners within the lesson view to encourage timely completion.
Save Your Settings
Once a schedule is set, the button will change appearance (icon or colour) to indicate it’s active.
You can return at any time to edit or remove the schedule.
What Students Will See
If a lesson is not yet available, students will see a clear label such as:
“Unlocks on 1 May 2025”
“Available 3 days after enrolment”
If a lesson has a due date, banners will be shown as reminders within the lesson view.
A due date does not prevent access - it simply encourages progress.
Email Notifications
Lesson Availability
Students will receive an email notification as soon as a scheduled lesson becomes available.
The email includes a direct link that takes them straight to the unlocked lesson.
Due Date Reminders
Students will also receive a reminder email one day before a lesson’s due date.
This helps encourage timely completion of course material.
