Pay for a Course in Monthly Instalments

Choose monthly payments at checkout, follow your schedule, and pay each later instalment through the emailed payment link.

Written by Artur Binzaru

This guide is for customers paying for a course with Cademy's Monthly Instalments. It explains how to choose monthly payments, understand the schedule and pay each later instalment.

Order owner: the person whose Cademy account the order belongs to. The order owner receives the payment emails and manages the payment plan.

Participant: the person attending the course. A participant booked by somebody else cannot see that person's payment information or use their payment links.

Course provider: the training company, school or trainer running the course. They control the order, prices, cancellations and refunds.

Cademy's Monthly Instalments are separate from Klarna or PayPal Pay in 3. With Cademy's option, you pay the first amount at checkout and Cademy emails the order owner when each later payment is due.

Choose Monthly Payments at Checkout

  1. Continue through checkout to the Payment step.

  2. Under How would you like to pay?, select [number] Monthly Payments.

  3. Review the amount due today and the number and amount of later payments.

  4. Choose Card / Apple Pay / Google Pay or PayPal, where available.

  5. Complete the first payment.

After payment, the confirmation page shows your monthly schedule. The order owner also receives a Payment plan confirmed email showing the amount paid, remaining balance and payment dates.

If Monthly Payments is not shown, it is not available for that order. The course provider chooses whether to offer it, and some baskets or low-value orders may not qualify. Contact the course provider if you need to discuss another way to pay.

Understand Your Payment Schedule

  • The first payment is taken immediately at checkout.

  • The remaining payments are due monthly on calendar anniversaries of the order date.

  • If a payment would fall on the 29th, 30th or 31st and the later month is shorter, it is due on the last day of that month.

  • The amounts are split as evenly as possible. A small rounding difference may be added to the first payment.

  • Course start dates do not change the payment dates.

Your schedule lists each payment as Paid, Due, Overdue or Scheduled.

Cademy does not automatically charge the card or PayPal account used for the first payment. The order owner must use the payment link for every later instalment.

Pay a Later Instalment

Cademy sends the order owner two reminders for each unpaid instalment:

  • Payment due soon: sent seven days before the due date. This is normally a reminder only. If an earlier payment is already overdue, the email can include a link for that overdue amount.

  • Payment due today: sent on the due date with a Pay Now link for the amount currently due.

  1. Open the latest Payment due today email.

  2. Select Pay Now. You do not need to log in to Cademy.

  3. Review Your Payment Plan. It shows every payment date, amount and status.

  4. Select Pay [amount] Now.

  5. Choose Card / Apple Pay / Google Pay or PayPal, where available, and complete the payment.

After payment, the order owner receives a Payment received email with the amount paid, remaining balance and updated schedule. After the final payment, they receive a Payment plan complete email and the order is paid in full.

A future instalment cannot be paid before its due date through the automatic payment link. When nothing is due, the payment page shows the next amount and due date instead of a payment button.

Available Payment Methods

Later instalments can be paid by Card / Apple Pay / Google Pay or PayPal when those methods are available for the order. Klarna, Invoice and manual payment methods cannot be used for a Cademy Monthly Instalment.

PayPal is not available for orders in Malaysian ringgit (MYR) or South African rand (ZAR). Card payments can still be offered for those currencies when card payments are enabled.

If a Payment Becomes Overdue

An unpaid instalment becomes overdue on the day after its due date. Use the newest payment email or open the order's payment page to see the amount currently overdue.

If another instalment becomes due before the overdue amount is paid, one live payment link collects the combined amount now overdue. Future payments keep their original monthly dates.

Cademy does not automatically cancel the order. The course provider's payment and cancellation terms still apply, so contact them if you cannot make a payment or need to discuss the order.

View Your Order, Invoice and Receipt

The order owner can select View & manage your order in the Payment plan confirmed, Payment received or Payment plan complete email.

They can also start from My Account at the top-right of the page:

  1. Select My Courses & Bookings.

  2. Select Orders & Billing.

  3. Find and open the order.

The order shows the total paid, remaining balance, invoice and payment information. Once the invoice is fully paid, its PDF becomes a receipt.

Only the order owner can see this billing information. A participant booked by somebody else should contact the order owner about the payment plan.

If a Payment Link Does Not Work

  • Nothing to Pay: the payment request has already been settled.

  • This Payment Request Was Cancelled: the link can no longer be used.

  • This Payment Request Is No Longer Available: the invoice balance changed and the old link is no longer payable.

  • This Order Was Cancelled: the order can no longer be paid online.

First open the newest payment email, because a more recent link may have replaced the old one. If the newest link still cannot be used, contact the course provider for help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I see Monthly Payments at checkout?
The course provider may not offer Monthly Instalments, or the order may not qualify. Contact the course provider if you need to discuss another way to pay.

Why does the Payment due soon email not have a Pay Now link?
The seven-day email normally tells you the next amount and due date. Cademy sends the payment link on the due date. If you already have an overdue amount, the earlier reminder can include a link for that amount.

Will Cademy automatically charge my card or PayPal account?
No. You must use the emailed payment link for every later instalment.

Can I pay a future instalment early?
No. The automatic payment link is available only for money that is due or overdue.

Why am I not receiving the payment emails?
Cademy sends them to the order owner. If somebody else booked the course for you, ask that person to check their inbox and spam folder. Otherwise, contact the course provider to confirm the order owner's email address.

What should I do if my payment link was cancelled or is no longer available?
Open the newest payment email first. If that link also cannot be used, contact the course provider for an up-to-date link.

Who should I contact about changing or cancelling the order?
Contact the course provider. They manage the order, prices, payment terms, cancellations and refunds.
