Quizzes help reinforce learning, assess student understanding, and boost engagement. You can add quizzes to On-Demand and Blended courses on Cademy. This guide walks you through adding quizzes, configuring settings, and using feedback to support learner success.
⚠️ Note: Quizzes are only available for On-Demand and Blended course types.
How to Add Quizzes
To add quizzes to your On-Demand or Blended course:
Log in to Cademy as a Course Provider.
Navigate to the course where you’d like to add a quiz, or create a new On-Demand or Blended course.
Click Edit Course to access the course editor.
Open the Content tab at the top of the page.
From the list of content block types, select the Quiz option.
A Quiz block will be added to your lesson. Click Add Question to begin creating your quiz.
Choose a question option (see below) and enter the relevant question content and settings.
Repeat the process for each question.
Customise quiz settings such as marking mode and passing score (see next section).
Quiz Settings
Quiz settings allow you to control how learners complete the quiz and how their responses are evaluated.
Marking & Reviewing
Choose between:
Automatic Marking
The quiz is instantly marked based on predefined correct answers.
Manual Marking
Submissions are reviewed and marked manually by a course owner via the Inbox.
Manual reviews can be done from two places:
1. Inbox
Go to the Inbox in your course dashboard to view and mark quiz submissions manually. This is ideal for managing multiple learners across courses.
2. Booking Side Sheet (Course Progress)
Course Providers can also review quiz submissions from an individual booking:
Go to the specific bookings page.
Click on a specific booking to open the side sheet.
Extend the Lesson Progress section to find the Quiz Submission.
Click on the quiz to open a modal window where you can:
View or Download student uploaded files.
Mark as Pass or Fail directly from the modal.
This provides a fast way to manage individual learner progress.
Passing Score
Define a Passing Score as a percentage. Learners must meet or exceed this score to pass the quiz.
Allow Retakes
Enable Retakes to allow learners to attempt the quiz again after a failed attempt.
Require Pass to Progress
Activate this setting to prevent learners from advancing to the next lesson until they pass the quiz.
Question Options
Multiple Choice
Short Answer
Require short, text-based responses.
You can set answers to match exactly (case-sensitive if needed).
Long Text
Allow for extended responses such as explanations, essays, or summaries.
Optional minimum and maximum word counts can be configured.
Number
File Upload
Allows students to upload one or more files as their answer.
Add upload instructions, set minimum/maximum number of files, and define max file size (MB).
Include internal assessor notes (visible to admins only).
Always manually marked.
⚠️ Important:
File Upload cannot be auto-marked by the system. Please make sure the Marking option in the quiz settings to Manual.
Correct Answer Feedback
Display custom feedback when the learner selects the correct answer.
Reinforce understanding or highlight why the answer was right.
Wrong Answer Feedback
Show feedback when an incorrect answer is selected.
Clarify misunderstandings or guide learners toward the correct concept.

To download a student’s uploaded file:
Go to the Bookings page or to the course dashboard.
Click on the relevant booking to open the side sheet.
Expand the Lesson Progress section.
Find the Quiz Submission and click on it.
In the modal that opens, you will see the uploaded file(s).
Click on the file name to view or download the file directly.
