Use this guide to correct the lesson progress recorded for one learner from their Registration in the Cademy Admin dashboard.
Registration: One participant's individual place on a course or course date. Changing lesson progress affects this Registration only.
You must be able to access the Registration in the Admin dashboard. System Admins can access all Registrations for their account. Other team members only see Registrations for courses or course dates assigned to them.
Change a lesson's status
Find the learner and select the Registration row to open its side sheet.
Expand Lesson Progress.
Expand the section containing the lesson.
Select the lesson's current status badge.
Choose Mark Completed, Mark In Progress or Mark Not Started.
Wait for the Lesson progress updated message. The percentage beside Lesson Progress updates to reflect the saved change.
You can also open Courses, select the course, select Registrants, then select the learner's Registration.
Important: This is an administrator correction. It can mark a lesson as completed without the learner completing a required quiz, SCORM package or earlier locked lesson. It does not create a quiz result, change a quiz answer or record a SCORM result.
Understand the three lesson statuses
Completed: The lesson counts as completed for this Registration.
In Progress: The lesson has been started but does not count as completed.
Not Started: Any recorded start or completion for that lesson is removed from the Registration.
Only published lessons count towards the lesson progress percentage and course Completion. Change one lesson at a time. There is no bulk option to change every lesson together.
How the change affects Registration Completion
Cademy recalculates the Registration's lesson progress and Completion after the change. The Completion badge may take a few seconds to refresh.
On-demand course: Completing every published lesson moves the Registration to Completed. Moving a lesson back to In Progress or Not Started can move it back to In Progress or Not Started.
Blended course: The learner must complete every published lesson and meet the required attendance. Reaching 100% lesson progress alone does not complete the Registration when attendance is still missing.
The Registration's Completion cannot be edited directly. Lesson progress is one of the records that controls it. For the full status rules, see Understand Registration Completion Statuses.
Certificates and CPD
If marking a lesson Completed would bring the learner to 100% lesson progress and the course issues certificates automatically, Cademy shows Complete All Lessons? before saving the change.
Review the warning, then select Mark Completed to continue. A certificate may be generated and emailed according to the course's certificate settings. Reaching Completed can also create a CPD award when CPD is enabled for the course.
Changing progress backwards does not automatically revoke an existing certificate or CPD award. Revoke the award separately from the Registration when it should no longer remain active.
Cademy does not issue the same active certificate or CPD award twice if the Registration becomes Completed again. See Certificates and Set Up and Award CPD Points and Hours.
If the lesson controls are unavailable
Lesson Progress is missing: The course has no online lesson content that Cademy can show.
The status cannot be selected: Cancelled Registrations are read-only. Lesson progress cannot be changed after the participant's place is cancelled.
The Registration is missing: Check that you are using the correct Cademy business account and that the course or course date is assigned to you. Ask a System Admin for the account when you need access.
The update fails: Reload the Registration and try again. If the same change still fails, contact Cademy Support with the Registration reference and lesson name.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mark every lesson Completed at once?
No. Open Lesson Progress and change each lesson individually.
Can I choose a different completion date?
No. Mark Completed records the change when it is saved. The lesson date cannot be backdated from this control.
Does Mark Completed pass a quiz for the learner?
No. It changes the lesson progress used by the Registration. It does not create or change quiz answers, scores or submissions.
Why is a blended Registration still In Progress at 100% lesson progress?
Blended courses also require the relevant attendance. Check and correct the learner's attendance separately.
Why does the learner still have a certificate after I selected Mark Not Started?
Changing lesson progress does not revoke awards already issued. Open the Registration and revoke the certificate or CPD award separately when required.
Can I change a cancelled Registration?
No. Lesson progress cannot be changed while the Registration is cancelled.
