This guide explains where Cademy publishes changes to its product and how to follow them. It is for course providers and their team members, and for anyone who wants to see what Cademy has changed before signing up.
There are three places to look:
The Product Updates page on the Cademy website. Anyone can read it.
The Product Updates card, a box on the Home page of the Cademy Admin Dashboard. The Admin Dashboard is where course providers and their teams manage courses, so you need a login to see this card.
Product update emails from Cademy.
The Product Updates page
The Product Updates page lists Cademy’s published features, improvements and fixes. It is a public page, so you do not need a Cademy account to read it.
The newest updates are at the top. Each one shows the date it was published, a title and a short summary. Select an update to read the full post.
Older updates are further down the page under Earlier product updates, grouped by year. Each one shows its title and date. Select a title to read the full post.
In the menu of the Cademy website, this page is under Resources and is called What’s new.
Product updates in the Admin Dashboard
If you have a login to the Cademy Admin Dashboard, the Home page shows a Product Updates card. People in every role see this card: System Admins, Course Owners and Facilitators.
Log in to the Cademy Admin Dashboard.
Select Home in the menu. On a phone, first select the round button at the bottom left of the screen to open the menu. If Home is not in your menu, select More, then Home.
Find the Product Updates card. It is the last card on the page.
The card lists up to six of the most recently published updates. Each one shows its title, a short summary and when it was published. Select an update to open the full post in a new browser tab.
To open the full Product Updates page, select View More on the card. On a computer, View More appears at the top right of the card when you move the pointer over the card. On a phone, View More is a button at the bottom of the card.
Product update emails
Cademy also sends product update emails. They are sent from updates@cademy.io, and the subject contains “Cademy Update:”.
Each email covers selected updates and links to the full post for each one. It does not cover every change, so use the Product Updates page to see all published updates. If you do not receive these emails, the updates they cover are on that page too.
At the bottom of a product update email is the line “If you wish to unsubscribe from our newsletter, click here”. The Admin Dashboard has no setting for these emails.
How product updates differ from Help Centre guides
Product updates and Help Centre guides answer different questions.
Product updates tell you what has changed in Cademy. Each one is a dated post about a feature, an improvement or a fix.
Help Centre guides, such as this one, explain how to use Cademy step by step. They describe how each feature works, without reference to when it was released.
Use the Product Updates page to find out what has changed. Use the Cademy Help Centre to learn how to do something. In the Admin Dashboard, Help Guides at the bottom of the menu opens the Help Centre in a new browser tab.
Suggest a product improvement
If you use Cademy and have a suggestion for a product change, email support@cademy.io.
Frequently asked questions
A product update describes a feature I cannot find in my account. What should I check?
Check three things. First, reload the Admin Dashboard page in your browser, so that you are using its current version. Second, check whether the update names a plan, because some features are included only in certain Cademy plans. Third, check your role, because some menu items are shown only to certain roles. For example, Apps is shown only to System Admins. If the feature is still missing, email support@cademy.io and include the title of the update.
What does “A new version of Cademy is available.” mean?
This banner appears in the Admin Dashboard when Cademy has released a newer version of the dashboard than the one open in your browser. Save anything you are working on, then select Refresh Now to reload the page. The banner does not say what changed. To see published changes, open the Product Updates page.
The Product Updates card shows “Couldn't load product updates right now.” What should I do?
The card could not load its list of updates. The other cards on Home are not affected. Open the Product Updates page to read the updates there.
