This guide is for customers paying a deposit for a course through Cademy. It explains how to choose a deposit at checkout, check when the remaining balance is due and pay that balance.
Order owner: The person whose Cademy account the order belongs to. The order owner receives the payment emails and can view the order, invoice and payment details.
Participant: The person attending the course. A participant booked by somebody else cannot see that person's payment information or pay their balance.
Course provider: The training company, school or trainer running the course. They control whether deposits are offered, the deposit percentage, the balance due date, cancellations and refunds.
A deposit pays part of the order total at checkout. The remaining balance is paid as one later payment by the date set by the course provider.
Choose a Deposit at Checkout
Continue through checkout to the Payment step.
Under How would you like to pay?, select Pay [rate]% Deposit.
Review the amount due today, the remaining balance and the date the balance is due.
Read any message added by the course provider.
Choose Card / Apple Pay / Google Pay or PayPal, where available.
Complete the deposit payment.
The confirmation page shows Deposit paid, Balance due by and Pay Balance. The order owner also receives a Deposit received email showing the amount paid, the remaining balance, the due date and a Pay Balance button.
If the deposit option is missing: The course provider may not offer deposits, or the order may not qualify. Contact the course provider if you need to discuss another way to pay.
Understand the Deposit and Due Date
The deposit is a percentage of the final order total after discounts. The course provider sets both the percentage and the rule used to calculate the balance due date.
The remaining balance may be due a set number of days before the course starts or a set number of days after the order is placed. The exact date is shown before payment, on the confirmation page and in the Deposit received email.
Cademy creates one invoice for the full order total. The deposit is recorded as the first payment against that invoice, leaving the remaining balance to pay later.
Pay the Remaining Balance
The order owner can pay the balance at any time before the due date.
Pay from the Confirmation Page or Email
Select Pay Balance on the checkout confirmation page or in the Deposit received email.
Review the invoice, the amount already paid and the amount still due.
Choose Card / Apple Pay / Google Pay or PayPal, where available.
Complete the payment.
Pay from Your Cademy Account
On the course provider's Cademy website, select My Account at the top-right.
Select My Courses & Bookings.
Select Orders & Billing.
Open the order.
Select Pay Invoice and complete the payment.
Pay Invoice is available only to the order owner while the invoice has an outstanding balance and the order and invoice remain open.
After the balance is paid, the order owner receives a payment confirmation and receipt. The order and invoice then show no remaining balance.
Balance Reminders
If the balance is still unpaid, Cademy sends the order owner:
A Balance due soon email seven days before the due date.
A Balance due today email on the due date.
Both reminders show the unpaid balance and include Pay Balance. If the order was placed fewer than seven days before the due date, only the due-date reminder is sent.
Reminders stop when the balance is paid or the order is cancelled. If the balance becomes overdue, contact the course provider if you need to discuss payment, cancellation or their terms.
View Your Order, Invoice and Receipt
On the course provider's Cademy website, select My Account.
Select My Courses & Bookings.
Select Orders & Billing.
Open the order to view its total, payment history, invoice, receipt and any remaining balance.
Only the order owner can see the order's payment information. If somebody else booked the course for you, ask that person to check the order and payment emails.
If a Payment Link Does Not Work
Open the newest email about the balance and try its Pay Balance button.
If the page says Nothing to Pay, the balance has already been settled.
If the payment request or order was cancelled, contact the course provider.
If the payment fails, check the payment details or try another available payment method.
If the link still cannot be used, contact the course provider for help with the order.
