Introduction

If you see “Custom Plan” listed in your Cademy account, you might wonder what it means and how it affects your features, limits, and upgrades. This article explains what a Custom Plan is, what you keep, and what to consider if you’re thinking of changing plans.

What is a “Custom Plan”?

A Custom Plan means:

  • You joined Cademy before we introduced today’s plans, or

  • You subscribed to a plan that’s no longer available.

We call this a grandfathered account. It means you get to keep the features and limits you had at signup — even if they’re no longer part of today’s Free, Pro, or Teams plans.

What features do I keep on a Custom or grandfathered plan?

You keep:

  • The features you had when you signed up or subscribed to your existing plan

  • The number of admin users you already have (even if over current limits)

  • The number of published courses you already have (even if over current limits)

  • Any storage, email, or other limits that applied at the time

We will not remove or downgrade these unless you choose to switch to a new plan.

What happens if I upgrade to a new plan?

If you upgrade:

  • You move fully to the new plan’s limits and features

  • Some features you currently have (like certain integrations) may only be available on a specific paid plan

  • Always review the latest pricing and feature comparison here: Cademy Pricing

Can I add more admin users on a Custom Plan?

  • You keep the number of admin users you currently have

  • To add more admins, you’d need to consider upgrading to the relevant plan

What should I check before upgrading?

  • Review the latest plan limits and features

  • Compare your current setup with the new plan

  • Reach out to the Cademy team if you’re unsure — we’re happy to help!

Summary

Being on a Custom Plan gives you the benefit of older features and limits. But if you’re considering an upgrade, check the latest plans carefully to make sure you pick the right one for your needs.
