Manage Your Membership or Subscription

Buy a membership, check its status and payment history, change or cancel a recurring subscription, and update your payment details.

Written by Artur Binzaru

This article is for learners and customers who buy memberships from course providers through Cademy.

Course provider: the training company, school or trainer offering the membership and running the courses.

Membership: an offer or plan from one course provider.

Subscription: your active or previous membership record. For a recurring membership, it also includes the repeating payment agreement.

A recurring membership renews daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. A non-recurring membership does not renew automatically.

You can have memberships from more than one course provider. Each membership belongs to the provider that offers it, but you can manage them from the same Cademy account.

What a membership can do

Depending on the plan and course, a membership can give you:

  • free entry to a course

  • a percentage discount

  • access to a members-only course

On a course page, you may see Free With Your Membership, [number]% Off With Your Membership, Subscribe before you can book, Subscribe before you can enrol or Get a membership.

A membership does not book or enrol you onto a course. After joining, return to the course and complete its normal booking or enrolment steps.

Join or buy a membership

  1. Open the public page for the course provider whose membership you want.

  2. Select Memberships.

  3. Compare the membership cards. Each card shows the membership name, price, renewal frequency when it is recurring, and a description of the plan.

  4. Select Join, or select Start Free Trial when the provider offers a trial.

  5. On Buy Membership, check the membership summary, start or end dates, trial length and repeating price shown.

  6. Enter your contact details, accept any required terms and select Next.

  7. Complete Payment or card setup when it appears. Keep this page open until you see All Done!.

If you started from a course showing Subscribe before you can book, Subscribe before you can enrol or Get a membership, return to that course after joining and complete the booking or enrolment.

To join memberships from different providers, repeat these steps from each provider's own Memberships page.

Find and check your subscriptions

  1. Select My Account at the top-right of the page.

  2. Select User Settings.

  3. Under Account Settings, select Memberships & Subscriptions.

  4. Select a subscription card to expand it.

You can also reach the same page through the redesigned profile area: select My Account, My Courses & Bookings, Settings, then Memberships & Subscriptions.

The page breadcrumb shows Settings > Subscriptions. Memberships from different course providers appear as separate subscription cards.

Understand the status

  • Initiated - the subscription record has been created but is not active yet.

  • Starts on [date] - the membership is scheduled to become active on that date.

  • Active - the membership is currently active and has not been cancelled.

  • Active until [date] - the recurring membership has been cancelled but its access and benefits continue until the date shown.

  • Inactive - the membership is no longer active.

Check dates, renewal and payments

The expanded card can show:

  • Start Date

  • Trial End Date, when relevant

  • Expiry Date

  • Cancellation Date, after cancellation

  • Will Auto-Renew as Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly or Never

  • the membership description

Under Transactions, each row shows Date of transaction, Payment status and Total paid.

Change a recurring membership

You can change an active recurring membership that has not been cancelled:

  1. Expand the subscription card.

  2. Select Change Membership.

  3. In Select new subscription, choose another recurring membership from the same course provider.

  4. Select Confirm Changes.

Check the new membership's price and terms before confirming. The available choices do not include non-recurring memberships or memberships from another provider.

Cancel a recurring membership

  1. Expand the subscription card.

  2. Select Cancel Membership.

  3. Read the expiry date in the Are you sure? confirmation.

  4. Select Cancel Membership to confirm, or Keep Membership to leave it unchanged.

Cancelling stops renewal at the end of the current paid period. Your access and benefits continue until the expiry date shown, and the status changes to Active until [date].

A non-recurring membership has no repeating payment to cancel. Check its Expiry Date and Will Auto-Renew: Never information instead.

Update payment details

If you see Update payment details for [provider]:

  1. Open that provider's payment details card.

  2. Enter the new payment details.

  3. Select Update payment details.

  4. Wait for Payment details updated successfully.

Payment details are managed separately for each course provider. If you have subscriptions with more than one provider, update the relevant provider's card.

If a membership or action is missing

  • You see “You don't have any subscriptions yet!”: check that you logged in with the same email address used to join. A paid membership or free trial may not appear until its initial payment or card setup has been completed. Return to the provider's Memberships page and select Join or Start Free Trial again to complete the checkout.

  • Your membership is not recognized on a course: confirm that you used the same email address, the subscription status is Active, and the course is covered by that membership. Remember that you still need to book or enrol onto the course.

  • Change Membership or Cancel Membership cannot be used: these actions are for active recurring memberships that have not already been cancelled. They are not available for non-recurring, cancelled or inactive memberships.

  • No alternative appears when changing: only recurring memberships from the same course provider can be selected.

Contact the course provider if you need them to confirm the membership terms, whether a course is included, why the membership is not active, or what help is available with a payment. The course provider is the organization running the course and offering the membership.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have memberships with more than one course provider?
Yes. Join each membership from that provider's public Memberships page. They appear as separate cards under Memberships & Subscriptions.

Does buying a membership reserve my place on a course?
No. Return to the course and complete its booking or enrolment steps after the membership is active.

Why can I not see a membership I just joined?
Check that you are using the same email address and that you completed the initial payment or card setup. Return to the provider's Memberships page and select the membership again if checkout was interrupted.

Why can I not change or cancel my membership?
The actions are only available for an active recurring membership that has not been cancelled. Check the status, Expiry Date and Will Auto-Renew information on the expanded card.

When do my benefits end after I cancel?
They continue until the expiry date shown in the cancellation confirmation and the Active until [date] status.

Who should I contact about a membership or course benefit?
Contact the course provider offering the membership. They control the membership terms, included courses and course access.
