Update Your Profile Picture, Name and Password

Change your learner profile picture and personal details, or change, set or reset the password for your Cademy login.

Written by Artur Binzaru

This article is for learners and customers who want to update the personal details or login security on their Cademy account.

Personal profile: your picture, name, email address and Cademy login. This is separate from a course provider's public business profile. To edit a provider profile, follow How to Update Your Business Profile Details.

Open My Profile

  1. Select My Account at the top-right of the page.

  2. Select My Courses & Bookings.

  3. Select the My Profile tab.

The page contains Profile Picture and Personal Details.

Upload or remove your profile picture

Under Profile Picture, Cademy shows your current picture or your initials. Your picture is shown on your profile and alongside your bookings.

  1. Select Upload Photo.

  2. Choose one image. The page recommends a JPG, PNG or GIF. A square image of at least 200×200px looks best.

  3. Check the staged preview and wait for the upload progress to finish. Save becomes available only after the upload completes.

  4. Select Save.

  5. Confirm that Profile picture has been updated appears.

Select Cancel before saving if you do not want to use the staged picture.

To remove a saved picture, select Remove. The action appears only when your account already has a picture. Confirm that Profile picture has been removed appears.

If the upload fails: an alert can show Profile Picture Upload Failed with the reason. Select Cancel, then select Upload Photo and try again. A network problem or upload timeout can also cause this message.

Update your name

Under Personal Details, your saved name is used on certificates, receipts and bookings.

  1. Edit First Name and Last Name. Both fields are required.

  2. Select Save Changes.

  3. Confirm that Your details have been saved appears.

Email Address is shown but cannot be edited on this page. The field says To change your email address, please contact support. Contact Cademy Support if the personal account email is wrong.

Open Login & Security

Use either of these paths:

  • Select My Account, select User Settings, then select Login & Security under Account Settings.

  • Select My Account, select My Courses & Bookings, select the Settings tab, then select Login & Security.

The security page shows the breadcrumbs Settings and Security. The action shown next depends on how you sign in.

Memberships & Subscriptions is the other card under Account Settings. For that card, follow Manage Your Membership or Subscription.

Change an existing password

If you already use a password, the page shows Change Password.

  1. Enter your Current Password.

  2. Enter your New Password.

  3. Enter it again under Confirm New Password.

  4. Select Change Password.

  5. Confirm that Password has been changed. appears.

Your new password must use at least 8 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, a number, and a special character. If an error appears, check the current password, make sure the two new passwords match and check every password requirement before trying again.

Changing the password changes the Cademy login connected to this account wherever you use it, including the main Cademy website and course-provider websites.

Set a password for an email-code account

If you normally receive a login code by email and do not have a password, the page shows Set a Password.

  1. Enter a new password under Password.

  2. Enter it again under Confirm Password.

  3. Select Set Password.

  4. Confirm that Password has been set. appears.

Use at least 8 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, a number, and a special character. After setting it, you can use the password when you log in. The login page can still show Email me a code instead.

If you sign in with an external provider

If your account uses an external provider, the page shows Change Password with this warning:

You are currently signed in with an external provider. To change your password, please use the password reset functionality provided by your identity provider (e.g. Google, Facebook).

Cademy does not show password fields for this account type because the external provider controls the password.

Reset a password you have forgotten

If you do not know your current password, reset it from the login page instead of using Change Password.

  1. Select My Account, then select Log out if you are currently logged in.

  2. Enter your email address and select Continue.

  3. Select Forgot password?.

  4. On Reset Password, enter New Password, Confirm New Password and the Reset Code (from email).

  5. Select Reset Password, then log in with the new password.

The reset password must meet the same requirements: at least 8 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, a number, and a special character.

Update your picture from a course forum

A course forum can show Update Profile Picture when your account has no picture. The prompt contains the same Profile Picture card.

  1. Select Upload Photo and choose an image.

  2. Wait for the upload to finish, then select Save.

Saving the picture closes the prompt and updates your forum picture. You can also select your own picture in a forum to open My Profile.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I not edit Email Address?
Your personal account email is read-only under My Profile. Contact Cademy Support to request an email change.

Why is Save unavailable after I choose a profile picture?
Wait for the upload progress to finish. Save becomes available only after Cademy has uploaded the selected image. If an error appears, select Cancel and try the upload again.

Why can I not see Remove under Profile Picture?
Remove appears only when the account already has a saved profile picture.

Why do I see Set a Password instead of Change Password?
Your account currently uses email login codes and has no password. Set one if you want to use a password when logging in.

Why does Cademy tell me to use Google or Facebook to change my password?
Your account uses an external sign-in provider, so that provider controls the password. Use its password reset process.

Can I still request an email code after setting a password?
Yes. On the password step of the Cademy login page, select Email me a code instead.

Does changing My Profile update a course provider's public business profile?
No. My Profile contains your personal account details. A provider's public business profile is managed separately.
