This guide is for anyone who books or takes a course with a course provider that uses Cademy. It explains how to reset a password you have forgotten, what to do when a reset code or login code does not work, and how to change or set your password.
You use one Cademy login for every course provider. The login page can open on your course provider's own website, under their logo, or at cademy.io/login. Both open the same account, so a password you reset or change works everywhere you use that login, including a course provider's Admin Dashboard if you also work for one.
How you log in decides which steps you need:
With a password: after you enter your email address, the login page asks for your password. If you have forgotten it, follow “Reset a Forgotten Password From the Login Page” below.
With a code sent by email: Cademy emails you a 6-digit code each time and never asks for a password. There is no password to reset. Follow “No Password to Reset? Log In With a Code Sent by Email” below.
With Google, Facebook or your organisation's sign-in: that service controls your password. Follow “Change a Password for a Google or Facebook Login” below.
Reset a Forgotten Password From the Login Page
Use these steps when your account has a password and you do not know it. You reset it from the login page with a code that Cademy sends to your email address.
Open the login page at cademy.io/login. If a different page opens instead, you are still logged in: go to cademy.io/profile, select My Account in the header, then select Log out. The login page opens.
Enter your email address and select Continue.
On the password step, select Forgot password?. Cademy emails a reset code to that address with the subject “Cademy verification code”, and the page changes to Reset Password.
Enter the new password in New Password and again in Confirm New Password.
Enter the code from the email in Reset Code (from email).
Select Reset Password. The login page returns to the email step with the message Your password has been reset.
Your email address is already entered. Select Continue and log in with the new password.
The password must have at least 8 characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character.
If you enter your password and the page changes to Reset Password with We sent a reset code to your email address, Cademy needs you to choose a new password before you log in. Follow steps 4 to 7 above with the code from that email.
Locked Out? Password Reset Link or Code Not Working
A password reset from Cademy uses a code, not a link. The email has the subject “Cademy verification code” and says Your verification code is: followed by the code. Type or paste that code into Reset Code (from email) on the Reset Password page.
The email has not arrived: check your spam or junk folder. Also check the email address in We sent a reset code to on the Reset Password page. If it is wrong, select Change email. and start again with the right address.
You closed the Reset Password page: open the login page again and repeat the reset steps. Selecting Forgot password? again sends a new code.
The page shows Invalid Confirmation Code: the code you entered does not match the one in the email. Check the code and enter it again.
The page shows Too Many Password Reset Attempts or Too Many Password Reset Emails: wait a few minutes before trying again. Follow the wait message on the screen rather than repeatedly entering codes or requesting reset emails.
There is no Forgot password? link: your account has no password. Follow the next section.
No Password to Reset? Log In With a Code Sent by Email
If your account has no password, Cademy emails you a 6-digit code each time you log in. This is the case, for example, when your account was created at checkout or when a course provider added you to a course, or when you left Create Password (optional) empty at sign-up, and you have not set a password since. The login page then has no Forgot password? link, because there is no password to reset.
Open the login page, enter your email address and select Continue.
The page says We emailed a 6-digit code to your email address. Find the email with the subject “Your one-time login code - Cademy” and enter the code in Enter 6-digit code.
Select Log In.
If the email has not arrived, check your spam folder or select request a new one on the login page. After you request a code, the link counts down 60 seconds before you can request another.
After five incorrect codes, Cademy temporarily blocks code login for that account. The message Too many incorrect codes. Wait an hour, then request a new code. means you need to wait an hour before selecting Request New Code. Requesting another code during that time does not remove the block.
To log in with a password in future, log in with a code, then follow “Set a Password if You Log In With a Code” below.
Reset Your Password but It Still Won't Let You Log In
After a successful reset, the login page returns to the email step with the message Your password has been reset. If you still cannot log in, check these in order:
The page shows Complete Sign Up: it says Create an account for the address you typed, which means no Cademy account uses that address. Select Change email. and enter the address that received your booking confirmation or course invitation. A new account with another address is a separate account, and courses booked with your usual address do not appear in it.
You normally use Google or Facebook: on the email step, select Google or Facebook under or continue with instead of typing a password.
The page shows Incorrect Password: check that you typed the new password. After too many wrong passwords, Cademy temporarily locks password login and shows the same Incorrect Password message even for the right password. Select Email me a code instead to log in with a code meanwhile.
If none of these help, contact Cademy Support, which looks after Cademy logins. Give the email address you are trying to log in with and the exact message on the screen. Never send your password. The ways to reach Cademy Support are in Contact the Right Team for Help.
Open Login & Security to Change Your Password
When you are logged in, your password settings are on the Login & Security page of your account.
Open your My Courses page: go to cademy.io/profile and log in if the login page opens.
Select the Settings tab. The Account Settings page opens with two cards: Login & Security and Memberships & Subscriptions.
Select Login & Security.
If the page you are on has My Account in its header, for example a page on your course provider's website, you can select My Account, then User Settings, instead of steps 1 and 2.
Under the row of tabs, the security page shows where you are: Settings, then Security. Below that is one card. Which card you see depends on how you log in:
Change Password with three password fields: your account has a password. Follow “Change Your Password When You Know the Current One” below.
Set a Password: Cademy emails you a code each time you log in, and your account has no password. Follow “Set a Password if You Log In With a Code” below.
Change Password with a warning and no fields: you log in through Google, Facebook or another sign-in service. Follow “Change a Password for a Google or Facebook Login” below.
Memberships & Subscriptions is the other card under Account Settings. For that card, follow Manage a Membership You Bought.
Change Your Password When You Know the Current One
Use these steps when you know your current password. Start on the Change Password card of the Login & Security page, which you reach with the steps in “Open Login & Security to Change Your Password” above.
Enter your current password under Current Password.
Enter the new password under New Password.
Enter the new password again under Confirm New Password.
Select Change Password. The message Password has been changed. appears and the fields are cleared.
The password must have at least 8 characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character. If you do not know your current password, follow “Reset a Forgotten Password From the Login Page” above.
Error Message When Trying to Change Your Password
If Cademy cannot change the password, an error appears above the fields:
Incorrect Password means the current password you entered is wrong.
Invalid Password is followed by the reason: the two new passwords do not match, or the new password misses one of the requirements, such as At least 1 special character.
Set a Password if You Log In With a Code
If Cademy emails you a 6-digit code each time you log in, your account has no password and the Login & Security page shows Set a Password. To reach that page, follow “Open Login & Security to Change Your Password” above. Setting a password is optional.
Enter a password under Password.
Enter it again under Confirm Password.
Select Set Password. The message Password has been set. appears.
The password must have at least 8 characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character.
From then on, the login page asks for your password after you enter your email address. To log in with a code instead, select Email me a code instead on that step.
The card keeps the title Set a Password until you reload the page. After a reload it shows Change Password, which you use for later changes. Do not select Set Password a second time before you reload: your account already has a password, so Cademy shows an error.
Change a Password for a Google or Facebook Login
If you log in to Cademy with Google, Facebook or another sign-in service, such as your organisation's, that service controls your password. The Login & Security page shows Change Password with this warning and no password fields:
You are currently signed in with an external provider. To change your password, please use the password reset functionality provided by your identity provider (e.g. Google, Facebook).
Change or reset the password in that service, for example in your Google or Facebook account. To log in to Cademy with Google or Facebook, select Google or Facebook on the login page. With your organisation's sign-in, enter your email address and select Continue: the login page sends you to your organisation's sign-in page.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I see Set a Password instead of Change Password?
Your account has no password: Cademy emails you a code each time you log in. Set a password if you want to log in with one.
Can I still request an email code after setting a password?
Yes. On the password step of the Cademy login page, select Email me a code instead.
Is my password the same on every course provider's website?
Yes. Your Cademy login is the same wherever you use it, so a new password works on the main Cademy website and on every course provider's website.
Why does Cademy say my password needs a special character when it has a symbol?
Cademy counts only certain characters as special. If the only symbol in your password is a different one, such as + or =, the error says At least 1 special character. Add one of these characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) { } [ ] < > : ; " ' | \ , . / ? - _
