Find Your Way Around the Admin Dashboard

Use the sidebar menu, search for any page, record or help guide, customise or hide menu pages and find Message Us and Help Guides in the Admin Dashboard.

Written by Artur Binzaru

This guide is for course providers and their team members who use the Cademy Admin Dashboard. The Admin Dashboard, at admin.cademy.io, is where you manage your courses, bookings, contacts and settings. This guide explains the sidebar, how to get back to the Admin Dashboard from your learner pages, how to search for any page, record or help guide, which pages are in the Menu, how to hide or reorder them, and where to get help.

What you see depends on your user role: System Admin, Course Owner or Facilitator. For what each role can open, see What Can a Facilitator, Course Owner or System Admin Do?. If you are setting up a new business account, start with Get Started with Cademy as a Course Provider.

The Admin Dashboard Sidebar and What Each Part Does

The sidebar on the left is the main way to move around the Admin Dashboard. From top to bottom it contains:

  • The account menu, which shows your business name and logo, or initials until the account has a logo. It includes View Your Site, which opens your minisite, Update Business Profile, which opens the Profile page and needs the System Admin role, My Profile, User Settings, which opens the User Account page of Settings, and Student Profile. Under Switch Account it lists any other business accounts your login can open, followed by Create Free Account. Customise Menu… and Log Out are at the bottom.

  • The Search and Collapse Sidebar buttons, beside the account menu.

  • Account Setup, for System Admins until the five setup tasks are done.

  • Menu, which lists the pages your role can open.

  • More, which appears only when you have hidden pages from the Menu.

  • Favourites, where your personal shortcuts to records and list views appear. Favourite a supported record with its breadcrumb star, or open a view’s three-dot menu and select Add to Favourites. See Pin Records and Saved Views to Your Sidebar (Favourites).

  • Message Us and Help Guides, at the bottom.

Favourites in the native sidebar: a course, course date, Contact, organisation, two feedback forms, Tasks view and Reports view, each with a custom name and native icon.

Get Back to Admin Access From Your Minisite or Student Profile

If you opened your minisite with View Your Site, or your learner pages with Student Profile, you are on the public side of Cademy, not in the Admin Dashboard. View Your Site opens your minisite in a new browser tab, so your Admin Dashboard is still open in the tab you came from. To get back to the Admin Dashboard from the public side:

  • On your minisite’s main page, which View Your Site opens: System Admins can select View in Admin in the banner “You can manage this page as an admin” to open the business Profile in the Admin Dashboard in a new tab. Course Owners and Facilitators should use My Account > Admin Dashboard > their business name instead.

  • On a course page, at checkout or on your learner pages (Student Profile): select Admin Dashboard in the page header. This button is only on these pages, not on the minisite’s main page, and it is not shown on a phone-sized screen.

  • On any page, including on a phone: select My Account in the page header. Under Admin Dashboard, select the name of your business account. The Admin Dashboard opens in a new browser tab.

You can also go straight to admin.cademy.io and log in. For the sign-in methods, see Log In to Your Course Provider Account. If your login opens more than one business account, see Switch Between Course Provider Accounts.

If you can log in but a page you need is not in your Menu, your role does not include it, or the page is hidden: see “Why a Page Is Missing From Your Admin Menu” below. If you can no longer open a business account at all, ask one of its System Admins. They can invite you again or reactivate an archived user: see Remove a Team Member’s Access (Archive a User).

Search the Admin Dashboard for Pages, Records and Help Guides

Search in the Admin Dashboard finds pages, settings, records and Help Centre articles from one box. Every role can use it.

To open Search, select the Search button at the top of the sidebar, or press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on other computers.

Before you type, Search shows:

  • Favourites: your saved personal shortcuts, if you have any.

  • Recent: up to eight records you opened recently in this browser, excluding those already shown in Favourites. This group appears once you have opened a record.

  • Go to: every Menu page your role can open, including pages you have hidden.

As you type, results appear in these groups, in this order:

Use the up and down arrow keys to move through the results and press Enter to open one. To open a result in a new browser tab, hold ⌘ on a Mac, or Ctrl on other computers, and press Enter. Press Esc to close Search.

If nothing matches, Search shows No results for followed by what you typed. If a page, setting, app or help article matches but no record does, it shows No records match. If it shows Search failed, select Try Again.

Search lists a favourite record under Favourites instead of repeating it under Recent or its record group. A favourite opens the record or saved view; it does not grant access to a page your role cannot open.

Why a Page Is Missing From Your Admin Menu

If a page is missing from your Menu, there are four possible reasons:

  • Your role does not include the page. If you open such a page, for example from a link a colleague sent you, Cademy shows “You are not authorized to view this page” and names the role you need.

  • You have hidden the page. It is under More, at the bottom of the Menu.

  • The Menu is folded. Select the Menu heading to unfold it.

  • The page depends on something that is not switched on. Gift Cards and Memberships each need their app to be installed, and Reviews needs reviews to be enabled for the business account. If Reviews is missing for a System Admin or Course Owner on an older business account, select Message Us and ask Cademy about it.

Customise or Hide Pages in Your Admin Menu

Each user can reorder the Menu and hide pages they do not use. Your changes apply only to your user in this business account. They do not change what your colleagues see.

  1. Select the account menu at the top of the sidebar.

  2. Select Customise Menu…. The Customise Menu window opens and lists your Menu pages.

  3. Drag a page by its handle to move it. Select the eye button beside a page to hide it, and select it again to show the page. Cademy saves each change as you make it.

  4. Select Done.

Account Menu. Open your account options. Use the account menu for My Profile and User Settings.

Customise Menu. Choose your menu items. Select the menu items you use most. Your personal Favourites remain below the menu.

Hidden pages move to More, at the bottom of the Menu, and Search still finds them. Settings cannot be hidden. To go back to the standard order with nothing hidden, open the Customise Menu window again and select Reset to Default.

Collapse the Admin Sidebar or Open the Menu on a Phone

Select Collapse Sidebar to shrink the sidebar to a strip of icons, and Expand Sidebar to open it again. The keyboard shortcut is ⌘\ on a Mac and Ctrl+\ on other computers. While the sidebar is collapsed, hold the pointer over an icon to see its name.

In a browser window 1400 pixels wide or narrower, Cademy collapses the sidebar automatically. On a phone-sized screen, 768 pixels wide or narrower, a round menu button at the bottom left of the screen replaces the sidebar. Select the button to slide the sidebar in.

Get Help From Cademy in the Admin Dashboard (Message Us and Help Guides)

  • Message Us, at the bottom of the sidebar, opens a chat with Cademy Support.

  • Help Guides, below it, opens the Cademy Help Centre in a new browser tab.

  • On the Account Setup page, System Admins can also select Book a Call.

  • Contact Your Course Provider or Cademy Support explains chat and email support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does customising my Menu change it for my team?
No. The order of the Menu and the pages you hide are saved for your user in this business account only.

Can a colleague see my Favourites?
No. Favourites are your personal shortcuts. A favourite opens the record or saved view; it does not give anyone access to a page their role cannot open. See Pin Records and Saved Views to Your Sidebar (Favourites).
