This guide is for course providers and trainers with on-demand or blended courses (courses with online lessons). It shows how to use a course's Progress tab to see which learners have started or completed each lesson, how long they spent, one learner's course work and test results, and how to export or print them.
To find learners by their overall course completion or recent activity, use Find Learners Who Are Inactive or Have Not Finished. To review submitted quizzes, use View Quiz or Test Results and Mark Answers.
Open a Course's Progress Tab to See Lesson Progress
Log in to the Cademy Admin dashboard.
Select Courses, open the on-demand or blended course and select Progress. For a blended course, check the selected course dates before reading the results.
In the outline on the left, expand the section containing the lesson and select the lesson's name. The table on the right shows its learners and their status.
The outline contains published lessons. The number beside a lesson shows how many learners have completed it out of the registrations counted. Draft and cancelled registrations are excluded. You need the System Admin role, or the Course Owner or Facilitator role with access to the course or date. A System Admin sees every course; a Course Owner, or a Facilitator (a trainer or tutor), sees only the courses and dates they can access. See What Can a Facilitator, Course Owner or System Admin Do?
If there are no published lessons, publish the intended lessons in the course editor first. Build and Organise Lessons in an Online Course explains how. If the page says progress could not be loaded, refresh it; that error does not mean the course has no lessons.
See Which Learners Have Started or Completed Each Lesson
Above the table, select All, Completed, Started or Not Started:
All: every registration included in this course and date selection that you are allowed to see.
Completed: the lesson has a completed progress record.
Started: the lesson has a recorded start and is awaiting completion. Staff can also change a lesson’s status.
Not Started: no start or completion is recorded for this lesson.
If these views do not fit across the table, open the current view's dropdown to choose one.
These are statuses for the selected lesson. They are separate from overall course Completion. The Date column shows when the lesson was completed or opened. For a learner without a start date on this lesson, it shows where they are in the course instead.
Use Search and filters to narrow the table. Search finds a learner by first name, last name or email. Selecting another status tab replaces the current filters with that view's rules and keeps Search. Check the visible rules before exporting. For the general controls, see Find Records with Filters and Saved Views.
Open One Learner's Lesson Progress Record
Select the learner's row in the lesson table. Their Registration opens in a side panel.
Expand Progress, then the section containing the lesson.
Check the lesson status and any quiz, form or SCORM entries below it. Use the quiz or form name to find the submission you need. A SCORM row shows the saved result. For the figures and what they mean, see Check a Learner’s SCORM Progress and Scores.
The individual Progress panel shows the number of completed lessons out of the published lessons required for this learner. It labels Optional and Hidden, not counted lessons and can show the reason. The course-wide table above uses the published lesson list for the course.
Opening the individual panel can refresh the count after a tag, contact field or other exception detail has changed. It does not mark any lesson complete. To correct the saved lesson status, see Reset or Correct a Learner’s Lesson Progress. To change the course’s lesson settings, see Set Lesson Access and Completion Rules.
Print One Learner's Lesson Progress and Quiz Results
To print one learner’s lesson progress, quiz scores and answers together, open their Registration. Check the learner, course and Registration reference, select its menu button with three dots, and choose Print Evidence Pack…. Select Course Outline and Progress, Quiz Summary and Quiz Answers in Full, then Print to print or save a PDF.
Print a Learner’s Course Results and Answers explains the complete route, other sections and what the document does not include.
Lesson forms, SCORM package results and separate uploaded files are not included in the pack. A System Admin or Course Owner can select a form in the Progress outline to open its responses from this course. Find and Manage Form Responses (Submitted Answers) explains form exports and uploaded files. Download quiz uploads from the learner’s quiz answers; their contents are not embedded in the pack.
For a spreadsheet covering one lesson across learners, use the lesson progress CSV export. For a quiz spreadsheet, see View Quiz or Test Results and Mark Answers.
How Long Did a Learner Spend on a Lesson? (Time and Inactivity)
The Took column means different things according to the lesson's status:
For a completed lesson, it shows recorded active time on that lesson, when the full lesson was tracked. It is not the calendar time between opening and completing the lesson.
For a started lesson, it shows the number of days since the learner last had that lesson open. Move the pointer over the value to see the recorded date.
A dash means there is no time to show. In particular, lessons started before 21 October 2026 do not have a complete tracked lesson time.
Recorded inactivity does not establish why someone has stopped opening a lesson. Course-wide Time Spent, Last Seen and Last Progress measure different things; see Find Learners Who Are Inactive or Have Not Finished.
Export Progress for the Selected Lesson (CSV)
Select the lesson and check the course dates, Search, filters and visible columns.
Select Export above the lesson table. Cademy starts generating a CSV for the matching learners.
When it is ready, select Download CSV. You can close the dialog and receive the export by email when it is ready.
The export follows the selected lesson, course/date scope, filters, sorting and visible table columns. The Name column also supplies the organisation. The CSV contains the selected lesson’s results. To view separate package results, see Check a Learner’s SCORM Progress and Scores. Lesson Progress exports cannot be scheduled. For other export types and download guidance, see Export or Download Your Data as a CSV File.
Find Quiz, Form and SCORM Results From the Course Progress Tab
Quizzes and SCORM packages appear below their lesson in the left outline. System Admins and Course Owners also see lesson forms there. Select the item you want to review and use its guide for the available results.
View Quiz or Test Results and Mark Answers covers scores, attempts, marking and quiz exports.
Find and Manage Form Responses (Submitted Answers) covers individual answers, response filters and form exports. Forms in Progress are available to System Admins and Course Owners; Facilitators do not see them there.
To check a SCORM package’s status, progress or reported score, see Check a Learner’s SCORM Progress and Scores.
To interpret overall course completion rather than one lesson's status, see Check Whether a Learner Has Completed a Course.
