Create a Standard Website Embed for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or another website, with a live preview and platform-specific setup steps.

Written by Artur Binzaru

The Standard Website Embed uses iframe technology to show Cademy courses directly on your website. It is free, quick to set up, and works with WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, and most other websites that accept custom embed code.

Why use the Standard Website Embed?

  • Works with WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, and most other website builders

  • Free to use

  • Quick to add without installing a website plugin

  • Shows Multiple Courses, A Collection, or A Single Course

  • Includes several layouts, including Calendar

  • Lets customers view courses and complete checkout without leaving your website

  • Provides a live Desktop and Mobile preview before you add it to your website

  • Uses your Cademy brand colour

  • Updates automatically when you change course information in Cademy

Using WordPress? The Standard Website Embed works with WordPress and remains a good free option. If you want separate course pages inside your WordPress theme, stronger course-level SEO, and course listings that are part of your WordPress page, compare it with Cademy for WordPress.

Before you start

  • You need access to edit your website and add custom embed code.

  • If this is your first time using Embeds, go to Apps, open Embeds, and click Install.

Create a Standard Website Embed

  1. In your Cademy dashboard, go to Apps > Embeds.

  2. Under What would you like to embed?, choose Multiple Courses or A Single Course.

  3. Use Content, Layout, Collections Row, and Options to configure the embed. The sections shown depend on your choices.

  4. Check the live preview on the right. Use Desktop and Mobile to preview different screen sizes.

  5. Click Get Code.

  6. In Add This Embed to Your Website, choose General, WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace under Your Platform.

  7. Follow the Steps shown for your platform and copy the Embed Code, or the Embed Address for Wix.

  8. Add the code under Helper Script - Once Per Site in the location shown. Add it only once on each website, even if the website has several Cademy embeds.

Configure Multiple Courses

Content

  • All Published Courses - show all courses currently published in Cademy.

  • A Collection - show courses from one selected collection.

Layout

  • Grid

  • Rows

  • Dates List

  • Date Cards

  • Calendar

Collections Row

Collections Row is available when All Published Courses is selected and the layout is not Calendar. Choose Auto, Grid, Carousel, or Hidden.

Options

  • Only show courses that have future dates scheduled - available for every layout except Calendar.

  • Open checkout when a customer clicks a date - available only with Dates List and Date Cards.

Configure A Single Course

Under Content, select the course you want to show. Under Layout, choose:

  • Date Rows

  • Date Cards

  • Dates Table

  • Dates Carousel

  • Date Ticket Cards

  • Full Course Page

  • Feature Card

  • Price Card

Date layouts are not shown for on-demand or on-request courses because those courses do not have scheduled dates.
