This guide will walk you through the process of creating, editing, and managing your online course on Cademy. We'll also provide you with some tips to make your course more engaging and effective. So, let's get started!

Creating Your First Course

To create your first course, navigate to your Admin Dashboard and click on "+ Create New" -> "On-demand online course".

Editing Your Course Details

To edit your course details, you have two options:

  1. Click on the three dots next to your courses, and select 'Edit' from the dropdown list.

  2. Click on a course from the courses list on the home page and then click on the "Edit" button at the top right.

Course Title and Image

Choose a descriptive title for your course that's not too long, ideally between 6 to 12 words. Remember, a captivating image can speak a thousand words, so add some good ones for your class. Don't worry about the size; we'll take care of everything behind the scenes and optimise your image size and quality when we serve it to users.

Course Description

The goal of this section is to entice the visitor to take the course, so sell your course the best you can. Be honest about what the students can expect. You can use bullet points, lists, tables, rich text, links, and more to describe as accurately as possible the course you provide.

FAQs

Course Frequently Asked Questions or FAQs help answer customers' common queries about your course.

Delivery Details

Enter the total price per person in British pounds (£ / GBP). You can add as many prices and offer as many as you need. If your course is free, set the price as 0. On the course page, the price will be shown as "Free".

More Options

By clicking on "More Options", you can set the date from when these tickets will be available, the date until this offer will be displayed for sale, and how many tickets to block a specific offer.

Search Details

Pick the category or general study area into which your course can fit. This will help with search, recommendation and discovery. Choose whether your course is designed for beginners or a more advanced audience.

Course Contents

In the Contents tab, you can upload all the content you want to be available to the customers after enrolling in the course. You can add sections and lessons to organise your course. You can also select or drag and drop the kind of content you want to add for the customer.

Preview

By clicking on the preview button on the top page, you will be able to see how this lesson will look on the other side, the customer side.

When you want to add some more lessons but don't want them to be available instantly, you can use the option to publish or unpublish individual lessons.

Hosting Course Externally

If you already have an on-demand course hosted elsewhere, there is no need to recreate it within Cademy just to advertise it on our marketplace. We offer the option to mark your course as "hosted externally," enabling you to provide additional instructions to customers regarding how and when they will gain access to the course after making a purchase on Cademy.

When someone buys the course on Cademy you can either let them know that they should allow a few hours to get access to the content and do it manually, or notify the customer that they'll get access to the content momentarily and automate the invites through Zapier.

The option to do 'externally hosted' courses is a quick way to get started. We're reliant on traffic from search engines for most of our sales, and it takes a few months for Google to index new courses and for them to start picking up traction. The sooner you publish courses, the better, and there's plenty of time to worry about the content once you see some traction.

Creating these on-demand online courses in Cademy can take a while, but ultimately it's a better experience for the customer to buy and take the course directly on Cademy.

Course Dashboard

Course Dashboard will have an interface adapted for on-demand courses that will provide you from the start with some helpful information about the customer's progress in the course.

Manually adding customers

Suppose you received a request from a customer other than your website Cademy offers you the option to manually add consumers and send them automatically generated links for payment.

To find out how to manually add customers from the admin side, please click here.

Certificates

With Cademy, you no longer need to use other third-party platforms to create certified PDFs. Cademy will generate certificates for your consumers in a few clicks for free!

You can generate certificates only after the customer completes all lessons in this course.

To find out more about Certificates, please click here.

Customer View

Customers will see all on-demand courses enrolled under the "Online Courses" tab in their accounts. They will be able to see the overall course progress, mark a lesson as completed or incomplete and download the certificate after they complete all the lessons.
