This guide explains how to create, edit, and manage on-demand (pre-recorded) online courses on Cademy. These courses are accessible to students anytime, without fixed start dates.
Creating an On-Demand Course
To create a new on-demand course:
Go to your Admin Dashboard.
Click + Create New.
Select On-demand online course.
Editing Course Details
You can edit your course in two ways:
From the courses list: click the three dots next to a course, then select Edit.
From the course page: open the course and click the Edit button at the top right.
Course Information
Course Title and Image
Use a short, descriptive title (6–12 words).
Upload a high-quality image.
Course Description
Clearly explain what learners will gain from the course.
Use bullet points, headings, and tables to structure content.
Be honest and informative. Avoid vague or salesy language.
Course FAQs
Add answers to common questions to help customers decide before booking.
Pricing & Delivery Options
Set the total price per person.
To offer the course for free, set the price to 0 (it will display as “Free”).
Use the More Options menu to:
Set a start date for availability.
Set an end date for visibility (optional).
Course Access Duration
You can control how long students have access to your on-demand course after purchase.
How to Set Access Duration:
Go to your course and click Edit Course Settings.
Open the Settings tab.
Find the section Access Options.
Choose one of the following:
Indefinitely / until removed by you
For a limited time – then enter the number of days students should have access after purchasing.
This setting only applies to new students.
For Existing Students:
Go to the Bookings page or find the order from the specific course dashboard.
Click on an order to open the side sheet..
Under the Order section, find Access Expires.
Click the pencil icon to update the expiry date manually.
Students will see their course access duration during enrolment. If their access expires, they will be redirected to their course list and notified that access has ended.
Course Contents
In the Contents tab, you can build your course structure by adding sections and lessons. Each lesson can include one or more of the following content types:
Text – Add formatted written content.
Video – Upload video files or embed from platforms like YouTube or Vimeo.
Images – Include images to support your materials.
Audio – Upload audio files such as MP3s.
Button – Insert buttons linking to external resources.
Attachments – Upload downloadable files such as PDFs or worksheets.
Embed – Use external tools or iFrames via embed codes.
SCORM – Upload SCORM packages for interactive learning modules.
Quiz – Add quizzes or assessments to check learner understanding.
Preview
You can drag and drop lessons to organise them or group them into sections.
Use the Preview button to view the course as students will see it.
Publish
Choose to publish or unpublish lessons at any time.
Quizzes & Assessments
You can add quizzes and assessments to improve engagement and check learning progress.
SCORM Modules
Cademy supports SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) files, which allow you to add interactive and trackable e-learning content.
Hosting Course Externally
If you already have an on-demand course hosted elsewhere, there is no need to If your course is already hosted on another platform, you can still advertise it on Cademy:
Mark it as hosted externally.
Add clear instructions for customers on how they will receive access after purchase.
You can manage access manually or use Zapier to automate invites.
Manually Add Yourself to Preview the Course
To experience your course as a student, you can manually enrol yourself. This works for all course types.
Steps:
Open the specific course in your Admin Dashboard.
Click Add Student.
Set the Total Cost to 0 (recommended for testing).
Set Mark Order As to Paid.
Select or create a contact.
❗️We recommend using your admin email so you can switch easily between admin and student views.
If using a different email, open a new browser session or incognito window.
Click Create Order.
Click your business name at the top left of the screen.
Click Student Profile.
You will now see the course from the learner’s perspective.
Manually Adding Customers
If a customer books outside of Cademy, you can manually add them and send a payment link directly.
Certificates
Cademy provides free, built-in certificates of completion. They are automatically available once the learner completes all lessons in the course.
Student Lesson Progress
You can track lesson completion from both the course dashboard and the booking side sheet.
From the Course Dashboard:
From an Individual Booking:
Click on the booking to open the side sheet.
Expand the Lesson Progress section.
See a breakdown of completed and pending lessons per section.
Customer Experience
Learners will:
See all their on-demand courses on the "My Courses & Bookings" page in their account.
Track progress and mark lessons as complete or incomplete.
Download their certificate once the course is completed.
See course access duration (if set) on the course or order page.

To preview your own course from the student view:

How can I see how far a student has progressed in the course?
How can I see how far a student has progressed in the course?
You can check lesson progress in two ways:
Option 1 – From the Course Dashboard:
Go to your course's dashboard.
You'll see an overall progress indicator showing how much students have completed.
Option 2 – For a specific student:
Go to the Bookings tab.
Click on a booking to open the side panel.
Expand the Lesson Progress section.
You’ll see a full list of lessons and which ones are marked as completed.

Courses cannot be permanently deleted. You can unpublish and then archive them.
Click the three dots next to the course.
Select Unpublish.
Then click Archive.
Archived courses are accessible via the filter menu.
