This article explains what Cademy is, what a course provider does with it, what Cademy provides, where to read Cademy’s terms and how to reach help. It is for people attending or booking a course, and for businesses that run their courses with Cademy or are considering it.
Course provider: the training company, school or trainer running the course.
Cademy: the online service the course provider uses to take bookings and run its courses.
What Cademy is
Cademy is an online service for running courses. Course providers use it to publish their courses, take bookings and payments, share lessons online and keep records of the people who book and attend.
Our mission is to make learning accessible and efficient for everyone, while also providing course providers with the tools they need to succeed.
Each course on Cademy belongs to a course provider’s account. Cademy is based in Edinburgh.
What the course provider does
If you booked or are attending a course, this is what your course provider does in its Cademy account. The course provider:
writes the course description and sets the price, the dates and how the course is delivered
adds the lessons and other online content, for courses that have them
takes your payment: card, Klarna and PayPal payments at checkout go to the provider’s own account with the payment service Stripe or PayPal
sets its cancellation policy and cancels bookings
refunds payments
issues certificates
can add its own terms of service in its Cademy account
What Cademy provides
Cademy provides the online service that you and the provider use. This includes:
your Cademy account and login: one Cademy account shows the courses you are attending across course providers
the course pages, course dates and checkout that a provider shows on its Cademy website (its minisite) or embeds in its own website
the pages where you open lessons and other online course content
sending the emails about bookings and courses on the provider’s behalf
A course’s price, dates and cancellation policy are set in the provider’s Cademy account.
Where you see the Cademy name
A provider’s pages and emails run on Cademy, so the Cademy name appears in these places:
Powered by and the Cademy logo appear on a provider’s minisite, at checkout, and on the course dates and forms a provider embeds in its own website. They do not appear when the provider has removed Cademy branding.
Emails about a booking or a course are sent through Cademy. Unless the provider sends them from its own email domain, the sender is shown as the provider’s name followed by “(via Cademy)”.
You log in with a Cademy account to see your courses and bookings.
