Create a Course Provider Account

Create a Cademy business account with a new or existing login, and see what a new account starts with.

Written by Artur Binzaru

This guide is for course providers creating a business account to manage their training on Cademy.

Your login and your business account are different. Your login identifies you by email address. A business account holds the courses and other information you manage for that business. One login can access more than one business account and your Student Profile, the learner side of Cademy.

Before you create an account

Use an email address you can access. If you already use Cademy as a learner or manage another business account, use your existing login.

If you need access to a business account that already uses Cademy, ask the person who manages its team access to add you. Creating another business account does not give you access to the existing one.

Log in or create your login

  1. Open Create a Business Profile. If you are already logged in, continue to Create your business profile below.

  2. If the login page opens, enter your email address and select Continue.

  3. For an existing login, log in with the password, email code or linked provider shown. A linked provider can be Google, Facebook or your organisation. For help with these options, see the provider login guide.

  4. If Complete Sign Up opens, enter your First Name and Last Name, and check Email. You can leave Create Password (optional) blank to use email-code login. If you choose a password, use at least 8 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, a number and a special character. Select Continue.

After logging in or completing sign-up from the creation page, the Create a Business Profile form opens. If you followed the provider login guide and reached the Admin Dashboard instead, return to Create a Business Profile before continuing.

Confirming your email address

Completing sign-up logs you in straight away. Creating a login or a business account has no separate step for confirming your email address, and the Admin Dashboard has no page where you confirm it yourself.

Cademy publishes a course only when the email address of the person publishing it is confirmed. If publishing fails with the message “You must confirm your email before you can publish a Course”, contact Cademy Support at support@cademy.io and include the email address you log in with.

Create your business profile

  1. On Create a Business Profile, check Your Existing Accounts if that section is shown. If the business account you need is already listed, select it to open its Admin Dashboard instead of creating a duplicate.

  2. To create a separate business account, enter its Business Name. Use at least 3 characters.

  3. Check Cademy Page URL. Cademy fills this from the business name; you can edit it. This is the part of your Cademy website address that identifies your business. Use at least 3 characters and check the website address shown below the field.

  4. Select Get Started. After successful creation, Cademy opens the new business account and shows six welcome screens. Select Next to move through them. The last screen asks you to choose a plan. To stay on the Free plan, select Start for Free.

  5. When the welcome screens are finished, the Admin Dashboard shows its sidebar. Check the business account name in the account menu before setting up courses. If the sidebar is collapsed, select the business logo to open the menu.

You are the System Admin of the business account you create. A new business account is created on the Free plan. For what each plan includes, see Understand Cademy Plans, Limits and Fees.

On a new business account, the Profile page can show Some features are temporarily limited. While it is shown, the About us page text and the fields under Website and social links cannot be edited. See Update Your Business Profile and Minisite.

For the next steps in setting up your account, see the start guide for course providers.

Create another business account with your existing login

If you already manage a Cademy business account, use the same login to create another one. Open Create a Business Profile while logged in. You can also open the account menu in the Admin Dashboard and select Create Free Account under Switch Account. Then follow Create your business profile above.

The new business account is added to your login. Your other business accounts are not replaced. To move between them, open the account menu and select the other business account under Switch Account. See the guide to switching between business accounts.

Create a business account with a learner login

If you already use Cademy as a learner, you can create a business account with the same login. Log in with it on Create a Business Profile and follow the steps above. Your learner account remains available.

Open your business dashboard from a learner account

  1. On the Cademy website, open My Account.

  2. Under Admin Dashboard, select the business account you want to manage.

You can also open admin.cademy.io and log in.

Claim an existing business listing

An unclaimed listing is a profile listed on the Cademy marketplace for a business that has not claimed it. Its public page and its claim page do not open, so it cannot be claimed online. See Cademy Marketplace Is Retiring.

If Create a Business Profile shows An Account With This Handle Already Exists together with a Claim this account link, the page URL you entered belongs to an unclaimed listing. The link leads to the claim page, which does not open. If the listing is for your business, contact Cademy Support at support@cademy.io with the business name and the page URL.

If you cannot finish creating the business account

If Get Started is unavailable, check that Business Name and Cademy Page URL each contain at least 3 characters.

If an error says the page URL is already in use or is not allowed, choose another Cademy Page URL for a genuinely new business. If the existing page belongs to your business, contact support@cademy.io before creating a duplicate. Include the business name, the page URL and the exact error. Do not send passwords or login codes.

If creation shows another error or you cannot reach the new business account, send the error and the email address you used to support@cademy.io. Check Your Existing Accounts before trying to create the business account again.
