Change the Email Address Used for Your Business Account

Ask Cademy Support to change the email address you log in with, and find where to change your business email address, sender address and notification recipients.

Written by Artur Binzaru

This guide is for anyone who logs in to a Cademy business account and wants to log in with a different email address. A business account is the account a course provider uses to manage its courses, orders and settings in the Admin Dashboard. The guide applies to every role: System Admin, Course Owner and Facilitator.

Your login email cannot be edited in Cademy. You cannot change it yourself, and a System Admin, the role with full access to a business account, cannot change it for you. To change it, ask Cademy Support.

Login email: the email address of your Cademy login. You enter it on the login page, unless you use the Google or Facebook option there. Each user of a business account has their own. You use the same login for every business account you belong to and for your Student Profile, the learner side of your Cademy login.

Check which email address you want to change

A business account uses more than one email address, and each is changed in a different place. This guide is about the first one, the login email.

  • Your login email. The address you log in with. Follow this guide.

  • The business email address. The Email Address field under Profile Details on the Profile page. A System Admin changes it there and selects Save Changes. When a person creates a business account, Cademy fills this field with that person’s login email, and the field keeps that address until a System Admin changes it. Changing this field does not change anyone’s login email. See Update Your Business Profile and Minisite.

  • The sender address. The default address Cademy uses as the sender of emails from your business account. If your business account includes custom email domains, a System Admin sets it under Settings → Email Domains → Default Sender. If it does not, the Email Domains page cannot be used. See Send Emails from Your Own Domain, and for the plan that includes custom email domains, Understand Cademy Plans, Limits and Fees.

  • The reply address. The address a reply goes to is a separate setting from the sender address. A System Admin or Course Owner can enter one on an email template, in the Send replies to field under Settings → Email Templates. See Create and Reuse Email Templates.

  • The people who receive notification emails. Notifications such as booking confirmations, cancellations, requests and enquiries go to users of the business account, at the email address shown on each user’s profile. A System Admin chooses those users or groups under Settings → User Management → Admin Email Recipients. When none are chosen, every System Admin receives them. See Choose Team Notifications and Calendar Invitations.

  • The billing email for your Cademy plan. Stripe, the payment service Cademy uses for plan payments, keeps the billing details of your business account. They are separate from your login, and the Billing & Usage page under Settings does not show or change a billing email. Where that page shows a Payment & Invoices button, a System Admin can select it to open Stripe’s billing page for the account. If you cannot change the billing email there, contact Cademy Support.

Find your current login email

Check the exact address before you ask for a change. Every user can do this for their own login.

  1. Log in to the Admin Dashboard at admin.cademy.io.

  2. Open the menu at the top of the sidebar. It shows your business name, or only your logo or initials when the sidebar is collapsed.

  3. Under User Profile, select My Profile. Your own user page opens.

  4. Find your login email under your name. Select the address to copy it. Cademy shows Email copied to clipboard.

The address cannot be edited on this page. User Settings, in the same menu, does not show or change your email address. It changes your name and, if your login has a password, your password.

Ask Cademy Support to change your login email

Cademy Support handles login email changes. Send the request by email.

  1. Email support@cademy.io with the subject line Request to Update Creator Email Address.

  2. In the message, give your current login email and the new email address you want to use. If you can no longer open the mailbox of your current login email, say so in the message.

  3. Wait for Cademy Support to confirm that the change is complete. Keep logging in with your current address until then.

  4. Log in with the new email address. For the login steps, see How to Log In to Your Business Account.

  5. Open the menu at the top of the sidebar, select My Profile and check the address under your name. If it still shows the earlier address, reply to Cademy Support.

Send one request, however many business accounts you belong to. One login has one login email, and you use it for every business account you belong to and for your Student Profile.

Give a different person access instead

Asking Cademy Support suits a person who keeps their login and wants a new address on it. When a different person takes over, a System Admin gives that person their own access without Cademy Support. This does not change anyone’s login email.

If you are a System Admin, open Users & Facilitators and select the user who no longer needs access. On that user’s page, open the three-dot User actions menu and select Archive User. Then return to Users & Facilitators, select Invite User and invite the new email address. The full steps are in Invite Team Members and Manage Their Access and Archive and Reactivate a User or Facilitator.

The invited address becomes a separate user, with the User Role you choose in the invitation. It does not take over the earlier user’s course assignments or history. Before you confirm the archive, Cademy shows two lists for the earlier user. Will be removed counts their future dates and course defaults. Will be kept counts their past or started dates and open tasks.

Two limits apply. You cannot archive yourself, and Cademy does not archive the last System Admin of a business account. If you are the only System Admin and want a new address for yourself, ask Cademy Support by following “Ask Cademy Support to change your login email” in this guide.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my business account email address myself?
No. Your login email cannot be edited in Cademy, by you or by a System Admin. Email Cademy Support at support@cademy.io with your current login email and the new address.

How long does it take?
Most requests are completed within one business day.

Does changing my login email change the address my customers see?
No. The business email address on the Profile page and the Default Sender, where your business account includes it, are separate settings. They stay as they are until a System Admin changes them.

I also book courses as a learner with the same login. Is that email address the same one?
Yes. Your Student Profile uses the same login, so it has the same login email. The Student Profile has its own page called My Profile, which is a different page from My Profile in your business account. Its Email Address field cannot be edited either and tells you to contact support. For the learner pages, see Update Your Profile Picture, Name and Password.
