This guide helps course providers build lessons in the newer course content editor. A lesson contains learning material; a section groups lessons in the course. You can organise these, add text and media, configure quizzes, SCORM packages or forms, and preview saved content. On-demand courses contain self-paced online learning. Blended courses combine online lessons with scheduled sessions.
Who can use this?
System Admins and Course Owners can create and edit course content. Facilitators cannot open the course editor. The Contents tab is available for on-demand and blended courses.
These instructions apply to the editor with New Section, New Lesson and a content menu opened by typing /. Some existing courses still use the older editor, which does not have the Form block. If your course looks different or shows a migration message, contact Cademy Support before changing its existing content.
Open the course content editor
Go to admin.cademy.io.
Select Courses.
Open your on-demand or blended course.
Select Edit Course, then select Contents.
The Course Content screen shows your sections and lessons in learner order. Each lesson card can show its icon, description, content-type hints, schedule and Draft status.
Create and organise sections and lessons
Add a section
Select New Section. A section named New Section is added to the end of the course.
Select the section name, or open the section's actions and select Rename.
Enter the new name, then press Enter or select outside the name field.
Add lessons with Add Lesson, or move existing lessons into the section.
Select Save at the top of the page.
You can drag sections to reorder them. Open a section's actions to use Rename, Move Up, Move Down or Delete Section.
Deleting a section does not delete its lessons.
If other sections are available, its lessons move to a nearby section. You cannot delete the only section while it still contains lessons.
Add a lesson
From Course Content, select New Lesson to add a blank Draft lesson to the final section, or select Add Lesson inside a particular section. The button shows progress and prevents repeated additions while it works. The new lesson opens in the editor. If there is no section yet, Cademy creates Section 1.
Move, duplicate, copy or delete a lesson
Save the lesson first if you want its latest edits included in a duplicate or copy. Both operations use its last saved content. From Course Content or the lesson list, open the lesson’s actions menu. Its options appear in this order:
Duplicate: creates a Draft copy directly after the original, with “(Copy)” added to its name. Open it and check the content, quizzes, SCORM packages, forms, schedule and links before publishing.
Copy to Course…: copies the lesson into another on-demand or blended course. Follow the steps below.
Move To: appears when another section exists. Select the destination section to move the lesson to its end. You can also drag lessons within or between sections.
Delete: opens Delete Lesson?, with Cancel and Delete Lesson. Confirm only when you want to remove the lesson for you and your learners; this is not a temporary hide action. Deleting the open lesson returns you to Course Content.
Copy a lesson to another course
Save the lesson before copying it.
Copy to Course… copies the last saved version. Unsaved changes are not included.
Open the lesson's actions menu. You can do this from the Course Content overview or from the lesson list on the left while a lesson is open.
Select Copy to Course….
In Copy Lesson to Another Course, search for the destination course if needed, then select it. The current course is excluded, and only on-demand and blended courses you can access are listed.
Select Copy Lesson.
Wait for the confirmation message naming the destination course.
Return to Courses, open the destination course, select Edit Course, then select Contents. The copied lesson appears as a Draft at the end of the final section. If the course did not have a section, Cademy creates Section 1.
Open the copied lesson and review it. Check its schedule and every Link to Lesson before changing it to Published.
Review the copied content before publishing. Duplicate and Copy to Course create separate lessons and copies of their available quizzes. SCORM packages reuse the uploaded file but have separate progress for the copied block. Ordinary lesson links retain their original targets, and saved timing rules are copied. Replacing or editing an external resource can still affect everyone who uses that resource. Copying does not repair a missing quiz or an invalid package. A copied Form block keeps the same form and the same requirement switches. Editing that form changes it in every lesson that uses it, and a learner’s Registration holds one response to a form however many of the course’s lessons use it. Choose a different form if the copy needs different questions or a separate response.
If the destination is not listed, search for it. If there is no eligible destination, the dialog explains that lessons can only be copied to on-demand and blended courses. If a copy fails, the dialog stays open and shows an error. Retry the copy. Cademy does not leave a partial lesson in the destination course. If the result is unclear, contact Cademy Support.
Adding, duplicating, copying and deleting lessons saves those operations immediately. Use Save for lesson edits and pending section or ordering changes. Course and section changes can also save when you navigate within the same course editor, or add, duplicate or delete a lesson. Do not use navigation as a way to discard those changes.
Edit a lesson
Select a lesson to open it. On a wider screen, the lesson list stays available on the left, where you can open another lesson, drag lessons into a new order or use New to add a lesson or section. You can resize or hide this list when you need more editing space. On a smaller screen, use the menu button to open the lesson list as a drawer.
Set the lesson details
Published makes the lesson available to eligible learners, subject to its schedule.
Draft hides the lesson from learners.
Schedule controls when the lesson opens and whether it has a due date. After you set a schedule, the button shows a summary of the timings in place of Schedule.
Icon adds a recognisable icon to the lesson list.
Cover adds a wide image above the lesson. A Full Screen SCORM lesson uses the package player instead of this cover and lesson header.
The title names the lesson. The description gives learners a short summary before they open it.
Choose an icon and cover
Select Icon, then choose the Emoji or Icon tab. The Icon tab lets you search and select an optional colour. Use Clear to remove the current icon.
Select Cover, then choose an image from the media picker or upload a new one.
After adding a cover, use Change Cover to choose another image or Remove to remove it.
Recommended cover image size
Recommended starting format: 2400 × 600 px with a 4:1 ratio. This is practical support guidance to reduce unexpected cropping, not a required upload size. Other image sizes can work.
Cover images are cropped from the centre to fit the available space. For a 2400 × 600 px image, the following is a starting design guide, not a guaranteed safe area on every screen. Check the saved appearance at the sizes your learners use:
Keep text, logos, faces and important details inside the central 1320 × 330 px safe area.
Leave at least 540 px on the left and right.
Leave at least 135 px at the top and bottom.
Use the area outside the safe zone for background imagery only.
Lesson status and course visibility are separate. Ordinary learners see Published lessons when they have course access. Share controls the course’s listing and sharing settings; it does not replace registration, payment, approval or access-expiry checks. A course does not have to be publicly listed for its existing eligible learners to study. For access expiry, see Setting an Access Limit on On-Demand and Blended Courses.
Add and format content
Select the empty content area and start typing. Press / on an empty line to open the block menu, or use one of the suggested blocks shown in a new lesson. You can search the menu by typing the block name.
To continue writing after the final block, select the blank space directly below it. The editor adds or focuses an empty text line where you can type or press /. Repeated clicks do not add a stack of empty lines.
The illustration shows the Rich Text part of the / menu. The groups and options available depend on where you insert the block.
Lesson Blocks
Quiz, SCORM, Form, Gallery and HTML. Use these for assessments, SCORM learning packages, General or Feedback forms, image collections and HTML content. These blocks belong at the main lesson level, rather than inside a table, column, toggle, callout or Media & Text block.
Rich Text
Text, Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, Bulleted list, Numbered list, Checklist, Quote, Code Block, Toggle, Callout, Divider, Button Link and Table. Use these for written content, headings, lists, highlighted information, expandable sections, links and structured data.
Media
Image, Media & Text, Video, Audio, File, PDF and Embed. Use these for images, recordings, downloads, inline PDF documents and external content.
Layout
2 Columns and 3 Columns. Use these to place compatible content side by side.
Format text
Select text to open the formatting toolbar. Use Turn into to change the block type. The toolbar also offers bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, inline code, links, alignment, font size, text colour and highlight colour.
Type these shortcuts at the start of an empty line. Press Space after the heading, list, checklist, quote or toggle shortcut:
#,##or###for Heading 1, Heading 2 or Heading 3.-for a bulleted list and1.for a numbered list.[]for a checklist.|for a quote and>for a toggle.```for a code block.---for a divider.
Use headings to structure longer lessons
When a saved lesson contains at least two non-empty Heading 1, Heading 2 or Heading 3 blocks, the learner lesson page shows a slim set of heading indicators beside the content on wider screens. Each heading level uses a different line length. Moving the pointer over an indicator shows the heading text, and selecting it takes the learner directly to that heading.
The indicators are hidden on smaller screens and when there is not enough space beside the lesson. Learners can still move through the lesson normally. A lesson configured with a Full Screen SCORM package also hides the heading indicators.
Move, duplicate or delete a block
Move your pointer to the left of a main lesson block. Select the plus button to add a block below it. Use the drag handle to move the block or open its menu and choose Duplicate or Delete. You can select several main lesson blocks and move or remove them together. Nested content does not offer all the same controls.
For independent quizzes or SCORM copies, duplicate the lesson. A block’s Duplicate command, or copying and pasting that block, can keep the same quiz or use the same saved SCORM progress. Use the lesson’s Duplicate or Copy to Course… actions when reusing a lesson with independent assessments or package progress.
Useful block details
Button Link: enter a Button label and Button URL. At the main lesson level, Link to Lesson also appears when another lesson is available; use Select a lesson to choose it. The picker includes Draft lessons, but linking does not give learners access to a Draft or locked lesson. Check that the intended destination is Published and accessible before sharing. Buttons nested inside other blocks use a URL.
Embed: paste a web link or iframe embed code, then select Set Embed or the recognised service’s button, such as Embed YouTube Video. Some websites do not permit embedding.
Image, Video and Audio: choose media or upload it through the picker. After adding it, use Change Image, Change Video or Change Audio to replace it. Images can also be resized.
Media & Text: combine an image and written content. You can swap sides, align the image to the top, centre or bottom, resize it, replace it or delete the block.
File: select Select a File and choose the attachment. If it is a PDF, select the file block and use Show as Embed to display it inside the page.
PDF: embed a PDF inside the lesson. Select Show as Card if you want it to appear as a downloadable attachment instead.
Gallery: select several images from the media picker. You can add or remove images, then use the arrows or thumbnails to preview them. In the learner lesson, selecting the main image opens a larger view.
Quote: highlight a quotation in a separate block with a vertical line.
Code Block: present code in a separate styled container.
Table: use the plus controls around the table to add rows or columns. Keep File and Embed blocks outside tables: those blocks are not included in the rendered table content.
Callout: select its leading emoji to choose another one. The block menu also includes Color.
Toggle: place supporting content inside a section that learners can open and close.
Checklist: create items learners can tick and untick. Choices are saved in that browser when browser storage is available. They are not tied to the learner account and do not count towards lesson or course completion.
HTML: enter HTML and CSS in the HTML block, then select Show Preview. Use Edit HTML to return to the code. Scripts and certain unsafe markup are removed from the displayed output. Check the saved learner appearance; the editor preview is not a guarantee that external content will work.
Choose how learners see a PDF
After uploading a PDF, you can present it in either of these ways:
As an attachment: add it with the File block, or select Show as Card on an embedded PDF. Learners see a file card they can download.
As an embed: add it with the PDF block, or select Show as Embed on a PDF file card. Learners can read the document inside the lesson.
Allow Download is on by default for an embedded PDF. Turn it off to hide the viewer’s Download button. This does not protect the underlying file from being obtained or copied. The embedded learner viewer includes the file name, page count, zoom and full-screen controls. Save the lesson after changing the presentation.
You can also add a PDF to the course description.
Go to Courses > [course] > Edit Course > Description, type / and select PDF. A course description can appear on the public course page, depending on the course's sharing settings, so only add documents intended for that audience.
Add a quiz
The Quiz block shows a compact summary: title, question count, the first two questions, pass mark, retakes and whether passing is required for lesson completion. Select Edit Quiz to work on its questions and settings. The opened quiz editor also shows marking information, including Manual marking or a warning when Long Text or File Upload answers are accepted automatically.
Open your lesson from Courses > course > Edit Course > Contents. On an empty line, type / and select Quiz.
Select Edit Quiz on the card and enter a quiz title.
Select Add Question, then choose the question type. Enter the question and any answer options.
Open that question’s Question Settings for its answer rules, description, feedback and notes. For Multiple Choice with more than one correct option, enable Allow multiple answers and choose the matching rule here. Select Done to apply the settings. For Multiple Choice, then use Mark as Correct on every intended correct option and check that no unwanted option is marked correct. Repeat for other questions; use the drag handle to reorder them.
Open Quiz Settings to configure grading, attempts, completion and notifications as described below. Select Done to apply the settings.
Select the main Save. This saves the quiz, its parent lesson and pending course changes. Reopen the quiz to check the saved questions and settings.
Question types
Multiple Choice
Add the answer options. If more than one option should be correct, open Question Settings and first turn on Allow multiple answers. Answer Is Correct When offers All Correct Options Selected, then Any Correct Option Selected. Select Done, then use Mark as Correct on each intended correct option. Check any option that was already marked correct: use Mark as Incorrect if it should not be accepted. With multiple answers off, choosing a different correct option replaces the previous one. Selecting an incorrect option still fails a learner’s answer.
Short Answer
Enter the Correct Answer. In Question Settings, Answer must match exactly makes capitalisation and internal characters matter; leading and trailing spaces are still ignored. With it off, matching ignores case and characters other than the letters A–Z. Use exact matching when digits or punctuation must distinguish answers. Select Done.
Number
Add the correct number, then set an allowed Tolerance in Question Settings.
Long Text
Set Minimum Word Count, Maximum Word Count and an optional Answer Placeholder. Choose manual marking when you need to assess the answer itself.
File Upload
Add Upload Instructions, then set the minimum and maximum number of files and Maximum File Size (MB). Choose manual marking when you need to assess the uploaded files.
Every question can have a Description or Upload Instructions, plus an Internal Note that is not shown to learners. Multiple Choice, Short Answer and Number questions also offer Feedback When Correct and Feedback When Incorrect. Use Delete Question inside Question Settings to remove a question. Apply settings with Done, then use the main Save to keep your changes.
Quiz settings
Pass Mark: enter a value from 0% to 100%.
Marking: choose Automatic Where Possible or Manual. Automatic marking accepts valid Long Text and File Upload answers that meet the question’s requirements; it does not assess their meaning or file contents. The opened quiz editor names the affected types. Choose Manual when someone must assess the response.
Allow Retakes: when enabled, the choices are Unlimited, Up to 1, Up to 2, Up to 3, Up to 5 and Up to 10. Do not interpret a finite setting as that many extra attempts after the first: the limit counts failed attempts. Check the intended allowance before learners begin.
Required to Complete the Lesson: learners must pass the required quiz before completing this lesson. An incomplete lesson with a required quiz can also lock later lessons.
Notify Me When a Student Fails: enables failure emails to the course facilitators. It does not mean the person changing this switch is automatically a recipient.
Select Done, then the main Save. Cancelling a settings dialog does not apply its changes.
With Manual marking, an authorised System Admin, Course Owner or Facilitator must review the submission. In Inbox, open the learner’s Quiz Response conversation, or open the learner’s registration and select Lesson Progress > Quiz Submission to reach Quiz Results. Review the answers and files, use Mark as Correct or Mark as Incorrect and Give Feedback as needed, then select Mark as Fail or Mark as Pass. After edits, these buttons read Save & Mark as Fail and Save & Mark as Pass. Access is limited to the records the person is allowed to manage.
There are no per-question points or question shuffle settings.
Each question contributes one result to the quiz score. The available settings control the pass mark, marking method, retakes, lesson completion and failure notifications.
Removing a quiz is permanent after you save the lesson. Removing a Quiz block and selecting Save can prompt Delete Quiz & Save or Delete Quizzes & Save. Confirm only if you intend to remove it. The quizzes and their questions are deleted, but learner responses already submitted are kept. A quiz still used by another saved lesson is kept there. If Lesson saved, but a quiz could not be deleted appears, the lesson removal saved but quiz deletion did not finish. Check the result before continuing.
For every quiz setting and the marking steps, see Quizzes & Assessments.
Add a SCORM package
SCORM requires a plan that includes it; see Understand Cademy Plans, Limits and Fees. The editor supports SCORM 1.2 packages supplied as a .zip file. SCORM 2004 is not supported.
On an empty line, type
/and select SCORM.Select Upload File to upload a SCORM 1.2
.zip, or select Media Library to reuse a package already in your library.Wait while the package is processed.
Under Presentation, choose Inline or Full Screen.
Turn on Students must complete this package to finish the lesson if SCORM completion should be required.
Select Save.
Inline is the default. It shows the package at its normal size within the lesson content. On supported browsers and devices, learners can select Full Screen to expand the same running package over the page, then select Exit Full Screen to return to the lesson. On a desktop keyboard, Escape also closes the expanded player.
Full Screen presentation makes the package fill the learner’s Content page below the top bar as soon as the learner opens it. Use this when the package should be the only content in that lesson. The separate learner Full Screen button is not shown because the package already fills the page.
Before using Replace: replacing a SCORM file does not reset learners’ saved package progress. That saved data may not work with the replacement. Where possible, choose the final package before learners begin.
Select Replace on the package card to choose another file, then save the lesson. When completion is required, every required package must report completed or passed. The learner must then select Complete & Continue, or Mark as Completed on the final lesson. Package completion alone does not mark the Cademy lesson complete. Eligible registered learners’ package status and resume information can be saved; package and access conditions still apply.
Use a test learner to test tracked SCORM activity.
Preview as Student can launch the package in a temporary preview session, but it does not save learner progress, completion or resume information. To test tracked launch, progress, resume and completion, register a test learner on the course and open the lesson from that learner's account. If a package does not upload or launch correctly, see Fix Problems with SCORM Course Content.
For every SCORM setting and the completion rules, see Add SCORM Learning Content.
Add a form
Use a Form block to collect answers inside a lesson. On an empty line at the main lesson level, type /, select Form, then select Choose a Form. Choose a General or Feedback form. Feedback forms are listed when feedback is enabled for your business account. Checkout forms and archived forms are not listed.
After you choose a form, the card shows two switches, and both start off: Students must submit this form to finish the lesson and Also lock later lessons until it's submitted. The second can be turned on only when the first is on. A draft General form can be used without publishing its public link. Select the lesson’s main Save. See Add Forms to Lessons for setup, learner completion and response tracking.
Schedule a lesson and set a due date
An opening rule controls when a lesson’s content becomes available. A due date communicates when to finish it. For a fixed date and time, check your device/browser time zone before entering the values.
From Courses > course > Edit Course > Contents, open the lesson. Select Schedule, or its existing timing summary in the lesson properties.
In Opens, choose straight away, on a set date or after enrolling. Blended courses also offer before the course starts, after the course starts, before the course ends and after the course ends, in that order.
For on a set date, enter Opens Date and Opens Time. For an offset, enter a whole amount and choose days or hours.
In Due, choose no due date, on a set date or after enrolling, followed by the same course-start/end options for Blended courses. Enter Due Date and Due Time for a fixed deadline, or the amount and unit for an offset.
Review any validation message, warning and course-date preview shown in the dialog, including a warning about a due date before the lesson opens. Correct errors before continuing; warnings need your review even when saving is allowed. Select Done to apply the dialog changes, then the lesson’s main Save. Reopen the timing summary to check what was saved.
For Blended courses, course-start/end rules use the learner’s linked course date. For a whole block, the start is the first session and the end is the final session. An individual session uses its own start and end. Changing that linked date can change the lesson timing. Without the required linked date, a course-date opening rule stays locked and a course-date deadline cannot be calculated.
after enrolling is based on the learner’s access record, such as the order’s payment/creation time or a manually added registration’s creation time. It is not a countdown from their first lesson visit. Review existing course-date rules if you change the course type. Closing the dialog without Done discards its pending changes.
A due date tells the learner when the lesson should be completed. It does not hide the lesson or stop access after that date.
For examples, rescheduling, previews, deadlines and reminder details, read Lesson Drip Feeds, Schedules & Due Dates.
Save your work
Do not rely on autosave. Select Save before leaving the lesson, or press Cmd+S on a Mac or Ctrl+S on Windows. The top bar shows Unsaved changes when the current screen has pending work. Saving a lesson also saves pending course and section changes; saving a quiz saves the quiz, its parent lesson and those course changes.
Course and section changes can also save when you navigate within the course editor or add, duplicate or delete a lesson. Lesson content still needs its own Save. After an error, check what was saved before repeating an operation; quiz, lesson and course changes are saved separately.
If you try to leave a changed lesson, Cademy asks whether to Cancel, Discard Changes or Save Lesson. If you are editing a quiz, the save option is shown as Save Quiz or Save Changes, depending on where you are going next.
Avoid editing the same lesson in two browser tabs or at the same time as another person.
If two saved versions compete, the most recent save replaces the earlier version.
Preview the learner experience
From Courses, open the course, then Edit Course > Contents. Save a new course at least once; Preview as Student appears only after course creation.
Select Preview as Student from Course Content, a lesson or the quiz editor. A lesson or quiz preview opens that lesson directly.
If Save Before Previewing? appears for pending changes, the choices are Cancel to stay in the editor, Preview Without Saving to open saved content, or Save & Preview to save first.
Review the saved course or lesson in the new tab. The banner says Previewing as admin. Progress is not tracked. Draft lessons are labelled Unpublished in this preview.
Admin preview does not reproduce every registered learner behaviour.
It does not track progress, submit quiz answers or form responses, launch tracked SCORM activity or enforce registration-based lesson locks. Forms show Preview. Responses aren't saved. and cannot be submitted. Use a test learner registration to test schedules, locks, quiz and SCORM completion, required forms and learner progress.
What learners see
Navigate between lessons
On a wider screen, the course's sections and lessons appear in a sidebar. The current section opens automatically, and Cademy keeps the current lesson easy to find as learners move through the course. Learners can open and close sections, hide or show the sidebar, and drag its edge to make it narrower or wider. Double-clicking the resize control returns it to its standard width.
On a smaller screen, the lesson list opens as a drawer. The header shows the course name and the current Lesson [number] of [total]. Check your actual media, tables and embedded content at the screen sizes your learners use.
Published lessons they are eligible to access. Draft lessons stay hidden and do not appear in the learner's progress. System Admins and Course Owners can still open them in admin preview, where they are labelled Unpublished.
Sections and lessons in the saved order. Empty section headings can still appear in the learner’s content area; the public course-page outline hides empty sections.
Lesson icons, descriptions and up to three small content-type hints in the course outline. Moving the pointer over a hint shows its label, such as Video, Quiz or Interactive.
The saved content. A Full Screen SCORM package hides the separate cover, lesson header and heading indicators; it does not remove other saved blocks. Use that presentation in a lesson containing only the package.
Clickable heading indicators beside a lesson with at least two headings when there is enough screen space, except with Full Screen SCORM presentation.
PDFs shown either as downloadable attachments or inside the lesson, according to the option selected by the course provider.
Published scheduled lessons can appear with a lock before they open. The content becomes available when the release and access conditions are met. A missing required Blended course date can keep a lesson locked.
Required quizzes and SCORM packages must be completed successfully before the lesson’s completion action is available. Learners then select Complete & Continue or final Mark as Completed. An incomplete required-quiz lesson can also lock later lessons.
A required form must be submitted before the lesson can be completed. It locks later lessons only when Also lock later lessons until it's submitted is on. Learners must submit the form and complete its lesson before that lock clears.
Checklist items can be ticked and unticked. Choices are stored in that browser when browser storage is available, separately from the learner account and lesson progress.
The public course page also shows the richer course outline. It displays the number of sections and lessons, hides empty sections, uses the correct singular or plural wording and does not number the lessons.
Each learner’s progress is on their Registration, under Lesson Progress. To change it, see Correct a Learner’s Lesson Progress. For certificates, see Set Up and Issue Course Certificates. For a course discussion space, see Set Up and Manage Course Forums.
Host the course on another platform
Use Host Externally when the course content is delivered on another website or learning platform instead of inside Cademy. This is available for on-demand and blended courses.
In the Admin dashboard, select Courses, open the course and select Edit Course.
Select Settings, then open Advanced Settings.
Turn on Host Externally.
Add the link, login steps or other learner instructions under Content Access Details.
Save the course.
Learners with the applicable approved booking or order can find the instructions under Course Access. From their account menu, they open My Courses & Bookings, find the course under Your Courses on the My Courses page, select the applicable booking or date if needed, and open Overview. Include the external link and any login instructions they need. Cademy does not create the external platform’s login for them.
The details can also appear in an order confirmation email, depending on its template. This is separate from the public course description and from Cademy lesson completion.
Content Access Details are for externally hosted courses.
For a course delivered inside Cademy, see Add Welcome Information and Files for Learners for information learners should receive after booking.
The on-demand course guide covers this setting with the rest of course setup: On-Demand Courses - Self-Paced E-Learning.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I not see the Contents tab?
Check that the course is on-demand or blended. The Contents tab is not shown for an On set dates or On-request course. You must be a System Admin or Course Owner to edit course content; Facilitators cannot open the course editor.
Can I reuse a quiz from another lesson?
Save the lesson first, then use Duplicate for the same course or Copy to Course… for another on-demand or blended course. These operations copy its available quizzes separately. Review the resulting Draft before publishing. Duplicating a Quiz block, or copying and pasting it, is different and can keep a reference to the same quiz. There is no separate Quiz library in this editor.
Why can a learner not see a lesson?
If it is missing, check that the lesson is Published and the learner has course access, including any payment, approval and expiry conditions. If it is visible but locked, check the opening rule, the learner’s linked date for Blended course-date rules, and any earlier lesson they must complete first because it has a required quiz or a form set to lock later lessons. Course sharing affects discovery; public listing alone does not grant access. Lesson Drip Feeds, Schedules & Due Dates explains Awaiting Date and the opening rules; for access expiry, see Setting an Access Limit on On-Demand and Blended Courses.
Can I preview a Draft lesson?
Yes. System Admins and Course Owners can open a Draft lesson with Preview as Student. It is labelled Unpublished in the preview. Learners cannot see it, and it is not included in their lesson progress.
Why does Preview as Student not show my latest changes?
The learner preview only shows saved content. Return to the editor and select Save, or choose Save & Preview when prompted.
Why can I not see Preview as Student?
The course must be saved before the preview button appears. Save the course, then return to its Contents tab.
Why can I not add a SCORM block?
SCORM is in the / menu of the newer course content editor, on an empty line at the main lesson level. If the SCORM card is added but its controls are disabled, SCORM is not included for your account: see Understand Cademy Plans, Limits and Fees, or contact Cademy support.
Which SCORM version can I upload?
Upload a SCORM 1.2 package as a .zip file. SCORM 2004 packages are not supported.
Why does a SCORM block show Invalid package?
Before using Replace, remember that replacing a file does not reset saved SCORM progress and the replacement may be incompatible with it. Use a valid SCORM 1.2 .zip package. For a rejected or non-launching package, follow Fix Problems with SCORM Course Content.
Can I show a PowerPoint presentation inside a lesson?
An uploaded PowerPoint presentation is added as a downloadable file. To display its slides inside the lesson, export it as a PDF and use the PDF block.
Does ticking a checklist complete the lesson?
No. Checklist choices are saved in that browser when browser storage is available. They are not tied to the learner account and are separate from lesson and course completion.
When should I use Host Externally?
Use it when learners complete the course on another website or learning platform. Add the access link and instructions under Content Access Details. For a course delivered inside Cademy, see Add Welcome Information and Files for Learners instead.
What should I do if the Course Content screen does not load?
Select Retry. If the error continues, contact Cademy support and include the course name and the time the problem occurred.
Does deleting a quiz delete learners' submitted responses?
No. Saving after removing the Quiz block permanently deletes the quiz and its questions, but responses that learners already submitted are kept. A quiz used by another saved lesson remains available there.
Do due dates block access after the deadline?
No. A due date communicates when to finish the lesson. Opening rules control when its content becomes available; course access expiry is a separate condition; see Setting an Access Limit on On-Demand and Blended Courses.
